Does history really repeats it's self?

Here in the Philippines when I was young, My grand parents, my mom, my dad and other senior people around me says that history repeats it self. I just noticed it sometimes that its real. But sometimes, I'm afraid from it to repeat again. Its because I don't want bad things and scenario in my life to repeat to my future sons and daughters so I adjust my self even my heart and mind keep on telling me to do bad things. This point in our life is considered as cursed because bad habits are really acquired until the next 10 generation of your family. We need to start the change in our life and we need to step-up to break the curse on our families generation. Its very true why some people tells us that " hey, your father also do the same thing!" or "hey, your grand father was also a criminal like you". We just need to be aware on this because its very true... :) We need to make the change..
