I watched the movie 2012 this week. Needless to say that it left me rather uncomfortable. Im noticing a lot of natural disasters lately. Earthquakes, mud slides, floods, snow in parts of the world that dont usually get much snow or any at all and this gigantic wave that hit a huge ship.....now this last one sure reminded me of the movie!!!
Now they say that the earth has shifted on its axis since the huge earthquake in Chile. Something else to remind me of the movie.....scary!!
Apparently Chile was hit by a tsunami also.
Im in Canada in the province of Quebec. We usually get quite a bit of snow but we're used to it. A few years back we had so much snow that I couldnt even see my house anymore from the street. Snowbanks up to 20 feet and more! This year we're beating a record with NO snow and warm weather.
Weather is so warm that the little snow we had on the ground is nearly all gone. So warm that it looks like spring and bears are waking up.
Yes, thats right, bears are emerging from hibernation at the ecomuseum here!!! They say its never happened before, they're at least 3 weeks ahead of time.
Could it be that we're heading for some big change, or is it something that happens all the time, that the earth is like us humans and goes through changes and we need to be patient and wait until the changes are all done.
What do you think is really happening? Do you care? Does it bother you? Are you worried?

well before you get too scared about 2012 being a reality.. let's look at the facts the u.s. has a lot of secrets. One of the smaller ones that very few people know about is seed cropping.. this is where they literally put chemicals into the cloads that make it rain on farmers crops: this has been going on since the early 1900's. Then once you see that we have the ability to control weather, you'll see it is not highly improbable that we also have the ability to make earthquakes (look up Tesla, who was a great inventor, he had a theory about a machine that could make earthquakes). Earthquakes can (and do) cause tsunamis/tidal waves. There are many things we aren't told. One is that the original 2012 scare had to do with "Planet X" also called Nibiru, which is an imaginary planet that was said to be on an impact course with earth. In reality the only thing that is going to happen late 2012 is a planetary alignment.

so the next time you hear about a natural disaster, think about what the u.s. government might get out of owning that land. In New Orleans there used to be the only port in the u.s. that was not controlled by the government, In Chile and Haiti, there are a lot of people who are poor and mostly not white. Even if you complete don't believe a word I say, you would be wise to use your head, read into everything you hear, look up all the information you can on both sides of any argument, then make an educated decision for yourself.

in retrospect, I would be much more worried about the u.s. government than any natural disaster, because more people are willing and capable of working together to prevent or repair after natural disasters, not so many people are willing to come to terms with reality with the government. Speaking of which, they recently proved that there were nano-thermites in the twin towers on 9/11.

At times it does scares me, specially when I really sit and think about all the things happening around us that isn't normal anymore. I mean those unusual things that's been happening in other countries are also happening in other countries, what I'm trying to say is that its happening around the world. Sometimes I just think maybe its global warming but I saw documentary movies as well about how the world began and such and when you really get to watch them, it will really make you freak for a bit. I mean there has been a lot of discoveries when the arctic was still ice free!!! You hear that? ICE FREE! I mean it has miles thick of ice right now its been like that for centuries. they say that the world really moves its axis in some certain time where places that used to be tropical will become places with snow and some islands will disappear.
What if the earth is doing it again? How are we gonna survive? And though these are just discoveries and theories that it could happen again, thinking about the things that has been happening to us nowadays makes me really have a second thought. Its just all in God's hands now.

Hi Mike!
Yes its in God's hands now. I too saw that documentary saying that the North was ice free. The continent werent at the same place either, so its all changing all the time. I dont think its global warming, I believe they're saying this only to make more money. Its a scam and one thats working very well.
I also get scared and try not to think about it too much.
Thank you for sharing your thoughts!!

I am not worried, the climate has always changed, and then changed again. Besides that, worrying would not change a thing that is happening. It is amazing the amount of disasters that are apparently piling up, but as someone else said, the fact that we have such instant communication brings it all to light.

Hello Garden!
Yes it does change all the time and maybe we think its getting worse only because we hear about it. But I know that the fact that we didnt get much snow this year is a record....it never happened before according to the experts (but they could be wrong!)
I know worrying wont change a thing.....cant help myself lol!!
Thanks!

I always thought the arctic was going to melt down onto Canada and we would have land up there instead of ice and snow. And that real Eskimos will no longer live in igloos because some really do still. Their are houses up there yes but some still live in them. With all these changes it is scary. But if it is going to happen there is nothing I can do personally about it so I guess life will go on until something does ruin the earth.

Hello Keelymcilwain!
Not sure when was the last time you went way up North but they dont live in igloos anymore and they havent for a while.
Our Government built dams up there so we can make electricity. I used to work for a construction company in 1972 when it all started......then they were living in igloos but not since then. They have built them houses and they live in poverty, not able to hunt much anymore because of the dams that changed the whole set up. They had to move villages and they destroyed a lot of the surroundings.
My sister worked there as a Chef for our Electric Company. She said they will build an igloo when they go hunting since they have to go so far away from the dams.
So we managed to destroy the great North also.
As for the melting, well theres petrol up there so dont worry, they'll try to melt it all so they can get to that "black gold"!!
A lot of Eskimos now live here in the South in the city and most of them live off Welfare and drink way too much but this is what happens when you try to interfere with a way of living. I feel sorry for them.
Thanks.

I just also saw the 2012 movie last night. It also reminded me of the movie Impact. I guess when President in the movie suggested that they should have done a lottery, it reminded me of Impact because that was what they did. Nice to see the comparison, however fictional it is.
I'm sure that there is something happening to the earth. I just chose not to worry about that. Nothing I can do to change things that I don't have any control. Not too worried.

I do think we are headed to some different weather. We are seeing it every day. I do think we are hearing more about things because the communication is better. The weather is plain scary at times. Mother Nature has been showing her fury. We have had lots of snow this winter. All we can do is live our lives like there may be no tomorrow.

Hello Thoroughrob! Well the reason you had so much snow is because us Canadians have big hearts and we decided to send it all to the people who didnt have any. (joking)
Yes we have instant communication now and I think its a good thing. Makes us more aware of our brothers and sisters in other parts of the world.
Yes live our lives to the fullest is the secret!!
Thanks!

Hi, Magical!
I kid around, saying Mother Nature is slapping us back for all the harm we've done Her. The fact is, however, it's all perfectly natural. The phenomena occur regularly, so many years apart that we're not all that aware they happened before...

Since I live in south central Texas, I'm accustom to "anything goes" weather. We may have an ice storm, or we may have 102 degrees F in February. We just have to roll with the punches mother nature throws at us. I believe that we are just hearing more about natural disasters more quickly because of the TV coverage. Maybe we are headed for another ice age, or maybe Christ will return shortly. No one knows for sure what will happen in the future. The bible states that no one knows when the end of the world will be, only the Father. We just have to be ready.

The earth is going to do what the earth does and there is simple nothing we can do about it except hang on and try to survive. We tend to forget that human life is only important to humans, to the earth we are nothing more than another life form.
It would the unthinkable to expect the earth on it's journey through it's life would in any way have concern for our lives. So the changes that are coming will continue to come and the only advantage we have in knowing ahead of time is that it just might allow us to change with the earth and survive as a spieces

I know what you mean. For some strange reason and dont ask me why but I see the earth as a "body" and we humans are like pimples on its skin. I know, its crazy but I cant shake that thought lol.
Of course the earth doesnt care about us. We're only but tiny specks!!

Hiya! One comment you made there that really scared me was the earth shifting on its axis. If that is true then we're probably in for more weird stuff. I'm amazed that you haven't had any snow and yet here in the UK we've had our fair share, moreso in Scotland that has had its worst winter for about 30 years, if memory serves me correctly.
Because of 24 hour news coverage there seems to be a disaster happening every day now. The latest one is raging floods in Kenya. If Global Warming wasn't a huge topic then I'm wondering if those poor souls would even get a mention otherwise.
Last Saturday night we played at Voyeuristic Telly as we became mesmerised by CNNs coverage of the non-event (thankfully) of the Hawaiian Tsunami. All the while that was going on Chile was suffering ITS tsunami. I couldn't help thinking that some reporters were getting a free holiday in Hawaii as opposed to being stationed where they should be; Chile.
Yes, I've got my Cynical Head on again and yes, I am scared about where all these natural disasters are leading. I'm even more scared about the so-called "experts" not really knowing themselves.
Get Sir David Attenborough on telly, at least we listen to him lol.

I wondered that myself about Haiti actually...and the fact that Chile never gets a mention...so sad. I daren't ask this question...well I'm gonna anyway..I've often wondered if Canadians "get on" with the Americans or just tolerate them..which is what I suspect. Apologies if you have relatives there!

Hi MagicalBubbles,
The climate is evolving and we can't do anything against that. A few degrees more or less can cause disasters, but it's not new. I lived a few years in an historical roman town build near a river ; a bank was abandoned by the romans in the 4th century because it was inundated one month each year : the climate was only 3° warmer than 3 centuries before. This bank was rebuild in the 18th c, and since 30 years now is regularly inundated again, in spite of a lot of engineering.
The climate was warmer than today when the Vikings discovered "Green" land : at this time vineyards were growing in the north of England !
We are living in a sad period for your bears, but they will win in the long term. We are in an interglacial, and next period will be a glacial : they have just to wait a few thousands years :)
The only thing that is surprising me is the pretentiousness of mankind : how can we believe that we should really intervene on weather, climate or prevent natural disasters ? And yet, after each flood or earthquake, people are complaining about the inactivity of politicians and scientists... They forget that they are only human beings, not God.

Hi Topffer,
You have a good point there, how can we pretend that we can do anything!!! Yet they still believe they can "change" things.
Ive been thinking about this for a while. I watch Nova on PBS and all the documentaries. Scientists are up north taking up samples and sticking "chips" on bears and all kinds of animals to monitor them. Im thinking that what scientists are doing might be the problem.....!!!
How are them implants chips in wild animals. I saw a show where they took baby bears from a sleeping mother and took them out, then stapled a chip on their ears. Its not right to even touch a wild animal. Then they'll say the mother didnt want to care for them and they'll never even think that THEY are responsible.
We need to leave wildlife alone. It can take care of itself. Of course, we have to stop killing animals for the ivory or teeth or whatever people will pay for.
Yes, we are pretentious and we deserve a slap on the back of the head!!
Thank you!!
PS: I know the bears will be alright, they have vets there to care for them. Its too bad that they keep them caged like this though. They'd be much happier in the wild where they belong!

Hi Magic, first of all, we are also the reason for dramastic changes of weather. The global warming today is the one of the reason for extreme weather. In India its really hot. So planting more trees, reducing the vehicles as the smoke from it also has methane and co monoxide which global warm the earth. We can try our best, believe Earth will not through us for next 50 years! But all these disasters can come and go..dont wory for these things. We never know when is our last day, so why worry about the earth last day. Live happily even if its 2 years or 50 years!.
