I had to resign from a position in law enforcement because I was no longer physically able to do the job. It really bothered me when I had to leave that job, and there in little doubt that I would probably still be doing it if I were able to do so...

I have also resigned from my current company one week back and I did that for better opportunity. I am getting good offer as compare to my current company so why not to grab it. It will boost my financial status and help me to achieve some goals in life.

the reason why i resigned from my last job was due to too much late and abscesses and i need to file a resignation just to have a clean record with the company than wait them to terminate me besides i know that its really my fault and so i accepted it with all means. i also wanted to have my own business even if its just small as i wanted to have my own time and maybe someday i can have one, im just trying to be optimistic that someday i can

I was working for a multinational and was doing fine till we had a new MD who had a kink in his brain. Every two months or so he would transfer senior managers to other departments which resulted in juniors having new bosses every 2 months. Making presentations to these every other day was quite taxing and each had their own way of functioning. Although my work was the same performing under new bosses was quite a strain which forced me to give up my job. It was a promising job and I was into great things but one needs a steady boat and not one that is in turbulent waters!!

Yes I did. I once resigned from a banking company. I worked as IT specialist. In my contract, it was stated that when I reach a certain level -- I would have the privilege of using special benefits. Such as get a car which they promised to finance for me as long as I am within the company, plus a promotion. I stayed for a couple more years and waited. When I finally had the courage to ask, they started making up lame excuses. I thought, I would have stayed but a contract is a contract. How would a client feel if their most trusted bank performs a breach of contract? I stopped believing in the company because of that. I became less productive. I knew better than to risk my career and professionalism... so off I went. =)

I have been to different kinds of jobs too. I've worked in a bank, pharmaceutical company, insurance company, consumer company. For me most of the reasons were compensation and benefits, and pressure at work. The pressure is too much that I become unhappy and irritable all the time and the pay isn't even as good as what I am getting now. I have resigned last year and I am definitely happier now. I got more time for myself and children, and I earn way better. If you want to work independently you have to know your niche and focus on that aspect. Goodluck!

Hi ksmita,
Yes, a number of times. Human nature calls for progress in terms of better working conditions, better pay and finding a place where you can be happy with your boss and co-workers. There can be countless reasons for anyone to want to resign.
I resigned from my last job abroad because I wanted to come home to be with my family. There is no place sweeter than home. I am very happy to be with my kids now. I am hoping that someday soon, I can happy with everyone else around me here.
Have a great day, ksmita!
