I was asked what this means as one of my people said they met someone who said he was Animistic, so I just want to know what does that actually mean, any ideas?

Animism is the belief in the "Anima," or spirit, of all things. For example, as I type this I am sitting in my home, next to a flower, drinking water from a cup created by the art of pottery. All of these things (my home, home, flower, this flower, water, the body of water I drink, cups, the cup I hold, the art of pottery) have an anima worthy of respect and honor with which I interact.

Ahh, why? I so appreciate you taking the time to help me understand but I will now ask a lot of questions. Ok is it only the live things that would have a spirit, no I guess not because you said the cup, how would the cup have a spirit.
Oh just to let you know, I am respectfully asking these questions in a real effort to learn and if my questions seem to get on your nerves please feel free to let me know. Thank You

Not only does the cup in particular and "cup" as an archetype, but the art of pottery that made the cups has a spirit.
As to how a cup would have a spirit, it is because existence has a physical and a spiritual component. The cup has a spirit because to exist is to have a spirit.

But in the case of inanimate objects while it does exist clearly, it is not animate so how would that have a spirit. I mean even plants show signs of living which I consider to be very important to having a spirit, how does this work with inanimate objects.
