Recently I often feel figety when I do my miserable work. Only eating food, I can feel better. I belive the stress can be relieved by eating food. But the nagative influence is I gain some weight. It aggravates the difficulty of losing my weight for me. What will do when you are on pins and needles.

It sounds like you may be an "emotional eater." Don't worry. You're in good company with Jessica Simpson. Did you see those high-waisted jeans she was wearing at the local Chili Cook-Off? Hmm now I have a hankering for Chili. Don't know why. Anyway, America is a snacking culture. Look at all the commercials they inundate us with on a daily basis. I have been told that Europeans shop only the aisles on the border of the store and avoid the center aisles. This means that they focus on things that don't come in a box. Not only is is healthier(duh) but you won't gain weight snacking. I read somewhere that people crave crunchy items when stressed. That the physical act of crunching relieves stress. Go grab those little to-go packs of mini celery sticks and sliced green apples that they carry in the refrigerated aisle and keep them in your lunch tote. Eating and snacking is not the problem. In fact, snacking is better than eating 3 big meals because it's better for the metabolism. I hate that weight loss programs focus on the amount of food someone is eating. That couldn't be more wrong. It's not the amount, it's what they are eating. If they just ate things that contains a lot of fiber(apples, jicama; a Mexican potato, brown rice, oatmeal, beans and whole grains)they wouldn't HAVE a weight problem. I'll never forget what my high school History teacher said to me when I told him I was worried about gaining weight and wanted to eat a lot. The school lunch always left me unsatisfied and hungry, and I was lifting some serious weights in the gym at the time. He simply said,"eat salad;you can eat as much as you want of that and never get fat." He was soo right, too. I even used hi-fat dressing, but I chowed down on that salad and started losing weight. I even did a recent experiment. I didn't exercise for 2 weeks, but I had a giant salad(right out of the bag) and whatever dressing I wanted for lunch every single day. Sometimes I would have the salad for dinner. In two weeks, with no exercise, I lost 5 pounds. Just imagine if I had moved my a$$!

Hi Coffeegul, Thank you very mucn. It's very helpful for me. I can carry some fruit to my office. Thus when I am on pins and needles, I can eat fruit. I always want to lose my weight, but I fail in doing it. I think I can get inspiration from your suggestion. I admire you have the willpower.

Thankyou very much. I am glad I could help. Protein also feels you up and now they have protein water or whey water. It may be a little expensive, but it could help with hunger. They say your are to eat 5-9 servings of fruit/veggies per day. Apples are really the best. However, if you can't buy organic, u need to remove the peel. The apple is what started the organic food movement and California Organic Food Act of 1990. A lot of pesticides are used on them. There are the "ten deadly" ones:a list of the top ten items that are laden with pesticides and icky stuff. Apples are #1. Potatoes, peaches and berries, specifically strawberries are on the list too. Apples have quercetin which can help maintain blood sugar, as well as malic acid which helps burn calories, not to mention the fiber which helps lower cholesterol and prevent diabetes.

You know so many common sense about food. I used to eat what I want and give little thought to their nutritive value. Now more pesticides are sprayed to the fruit, vegetable and cereals. Although the yeild is improved, they are harmer to people's health. I used to eating them with peel. I should pay attention not to do that in the future. I have posted the response twice. Maybe there have some problems. I hope I can post it sucessfully this time.

Like you I am a comfort eater but rather than snacking on all the bad stuff like crisps or chcolate, try carrot sticks and celery. At least if I am comfort eating, I can make sure that my snacks are good for me

Thank you for you response. It's a good idea. I should eat some nutritive food instead of the puffed food when I feel fidgety.

When I'm really anxious, I tend not to eat. I actually lose weight. I'm just not hungry. I once lost 30+ pounds and got down to 99 pounds, before they threw me in the hospital to gain weight. I couldn't keep anything down or up. Fortunately (or unfortunately, I could afford to lose about 15 pounds, right now), I haven't been that anxious lately.

Thak you for sharing your experience. I can't do that like you. Only do I eat food,I can relax myself. I hope I can lose my weight like you, but I will realize it by other ways.
