I couldn't agree with you more. If these two things were flipped around (love with your brain and "know" with your hard, there would be big problems! I know for me, when I loved in the past, I've been hurt so I know what it feels like. It was at that point when my brain would kick in and say, "HELLO! You don't need to waste your time on this person anymore because he is hurting you and turning you into someone you don't want to be." If we let the heart lead in everything in relationships, it would be wrong because the brain would never kick in to tell us otherwise. There would be a lot more hurt in the end in that situation. Thanks so much for making this wonderful distinction. I think that if more people knew these things in relationships, they wouldn't be hurt so often.

For me you stop when the thing's go wrong because if you not to stop you comet a sin then when it is happened Jehovah God would be angry.

There is logic to what you say. But in most cases especially when it comes to love the heart normally don't listen to the brain. The power of love overshadow the more intelligent brain so that deprive everyone in love of the sense of judgment. So we can only rely on one instrument ie the heart to lead us to the right mate to be our soulmate in life. Failure to chose the right person is disastrous and will lead us to lifelong miseries.

Have you heard of the movie "Untamed Heart" It was starred by Christian Slater and Marissa Tomei. In the movie, Slater had an ailment. He was a blue baby. He had some heart problems. There was a scene there when Tomei asked Slater to get an operation to get a heart transplant. Slater said, "I'm afraid... I'm afraid that when they take my heart I might not love you the way I do now..." or something to that effect. And Tomei laughed at this. She said, "We don't actually love with our hearts... we love with our mind and soul." And Slater replied, "Then why does it hurt so much here (pointing to his chest) whenever I'm not with you?" That movie really made me think... So for me... I still don't understand the whole process of using the brain and the heart for loving. I know that when I feel it... I just go for it. If it hurts me, then I'll weep for it. =)

I dont think so when the heart decide anything to it cannot be controlled even by the brain or anything

what matter is not to give a 100% love to anyone. still leave something for yourself so that if times comes that you need to stop, it will be easy to cope up without having too much pain. sometimes our brain is blinded with the fact that we love the person thats why we are no longer aware if its true or not. as once love strike us, love knows no boundaries and listen to no one even to oneself but just the heart alone.

wow..I totally agree with you.. Its pointless to be in a relationship if you didn't love your partner...yet it stupid when you let your HEAT to stay, when its clear that LOGIC told you to stop.. :)

it should be both use. if you only use one. then it is not balance in making relationship. you could be hurt at the end.

Yes you are absolutely right. Brain control our entire body include Heart. But it can't not stop to fall in love. When you got hurt then you will feel pain in your Heart. When stop blood in heart then we feel so pain also. Good discussion like it.

It's just a balance between the two.. The heart says he/she is very in love and the brain puts limitations to it. It's either we are empowered by the emotions of how we feel or getting drowned with what the brain is dictating us the right thing to do. This is very hard to apply for all of us.. It's hard but having balance between using these could make your life very productive.

I prefer to use my heart in loving a person because heart is the source of life, center of our body giving emotions, feelings, love which brain does not have.Our heart goes together with love. You cannot love a person by just using brain.It has no good result, all will end up in misery. But if it is heart guided by good mind decisions will be a good partner solving any problematic matters.

because brain thinks practically not emotionally .. thus brain goes for praticality and also brain is little bit selfish and self centered organ...lol... but true thus heart is an emtional organ and brain practical selfish but worth it.....

hey thats true what you are telling, its easy said than done i guess. people who have a love failure get really miserable... atleast for a period of time! then of course they have to move on with their lives and set right a lot of things!!

Again very good advice and so true, the human body I guess can be worked out in a very simple way sometimes but hard to get it to work for you sometimes.

hi there gtloquero, In the basic sense for me the heart is located under the our brain, so therefore our brain controls...but a lot of people believes the opposite and I am one of those.. for me it is not the brain who really knows and who is in control. its the heart which I consider to be the most powerful one, For me The person most useful asset is not the full of knowledge, but its the heart full of love, with an earn open to listen and a hand willing to help, Brain is just the manager but HEART is the boss. I am also a kind of person who strikes at the heart and conscience when I have issues. Because with the use of brain it will only worsen the problem. happy mylotting
