mechanical engineering B.E. final year projects

Hi,I am a 3rd year mech engg student.I have short listed some ideas about my project.
1)'thermal recovery system':-using the waste heat generated from cooling systems like fridge,air conditioner,etc to heating purposes like geyser,cloth dryer,etc.
2)bicycle with energy recovery system to store energy while going down hill and using this energy while climbing uphill.
3)making a toy which can auto navigate obstacles.
4)automatic gear change for bicycle.
5)automatic spark plug tester.
does any one like my idea,if so then can you please give more suggestions and tips.

Well u have 6th and 7th semesters to complete....
After that u will gain more knowledge on ur domain, so that u will have more ideas to do the project in the final semester..
i too had some ideas of doing a project in 3rd year, but everything went in vain, because 6th semester was not enough to do a project, u need to complete all the 7 semesters to gain the knowledge of the major domain..
I'm actually an electronics and Communication Engineering Student, during six semesters i had more electronics papers and a quite few communication oriented papers and in 7th sem i had all communication oriented papers and in 8th sem the 3 papers are inter related to communication..

I don't understand !!!!!
Actually the value of the project increases by the subjects which u read in 7th and 8th sem..
I never worry about my Guide...
I think there are more staffs available in the department ..
Anyone can be the guide...

I think that the automatic gear shifting for the bicycle can be made by usins a chain shifter that moves when pressure on chain increases
