why people nowadays don't believe in God anymore?

I guess everyone makes up their own mind at some point but it seems that many parents don't instill in their children the truth about God and his love for us..then they grow up not having faith in the only thing that can get us though..God. I've always believed. I pray to God because I know that he listens and can heal me and help me..and try to live right because I want to be in heaven with Him when I die. Although I've made a lot of mistakes. Besides, any other explanation doesn't make sense.

GOD is a spirit and He is omnipresent. He is everywhere, speaking of spiritual realm. many people who are christian , who are born again christians at times slideback as they cannot feel the presence of God and they cannot relate to God, they are down and out. they cannot see God , cannot hear his voice and they feel God does not answers their prayers, so they are disappointed. there is no photo of God, Lord Jesus Christ or the Holy Spirit anywhere in the Bible so that they can hold or cling to like a security blanket. GOD as i mention is a spirit, thus no pictures of HIM. just trust and believe in HIM. especially in the last recession starting around october or november 2008, where the econmy plunged and there are no hopes to many as they lost their jobs, their business went bust, the shares markets nealy collapsed, they received pay cuts, marriage breakdown, divorced, broken homes,houses and properties are foreclosed, lost their homes and cars, calamities like flood, thunderstorms, droughts, famime and earthquakes that came and destroyed what you have built up and families are lost or seperated. many are shaking all over and feel so depressed and many took their lives. there are doom and despair. many billionaires or millionaires became paupers.many turn back to their old ways to gambling, drunkard,using swearing words etc. in these terrible situations and calamities, many cried out to GOD why is He leaving them like that, in the dump. some are upset with the church they attend and find they are still struggling and have little fellowship with the church and they left so very broken, rejected. the end result is little faith in GOD. in its place, so called religion like new age religion , etc come about to fill the gap or vacuum, which is not a religion. the only living God is Father God in heaven and we must read the WORD OF GOD ( BIBLE) to understand and get the wisdom by the leading of the Holy Spirit. we must have faith and faith comes by hearing the WORD OF GOD. we must trust in God. TRUST means trust in GOD, R means renounce all our doubts and focus on Christ, U means unified with the Holy Spirit, S means stay in CHRIST and T means thanks to God. Its only when our spiritual eyes, ears and hearts are open, then we understand God's way and timing. hard times dont last and all seasona will come to an end. presently the economy is recovering and confidence is coming back and the winter barrenness and coldness have evaporated. spring is here and i think the economic cycle is in the spring phase. if one clings to GOD and struggles on , he will be out of the woods. God is good as He never leaves us or forsake us.we have to form a good relationship with God, communicate and talk to Him and He will answers you in His time. ask it shall be given, seek and you will find, knock and He will open the door. for those who are so fearful, dont give up on GOD.and never makes any decision if you are fearful. when you are calm and gather all material facts , then you can make logical and practical decisions. He will see you through and strengthen you. He will pick you up and nurtured you. just trust and have faith in HIM , works hard, proactive and be discipline.God gives us a sound mind, love and discipline. just dont quit and be lazy. plough on and dont look backwards. you sow when the timing is good and you will reap your harvest in summer time.thus be patient and wait upon the LORD. God will bless those who work hard, discipline and walk right with HIM. Parents must bring up their children well so that the children know God and will not turn away from God. parents have a great role to play as the family unit is fibre that binds the communities and country and nations. i believe in GOD ALMIGHTY.

of course i still believe in god even though im not that active like going to church to pray or etc. but i did pray every night. i cant blame those people who take god for granted specially now that theirs too many crimes and killing, even those natural disaster we encountered now a days. it makes other people believe that thees no god at all. but somehow, god has other plan perhaos why we encountered those kind of things in our life.

Hi nudra_aken, I believe in god, so I guess, I shouldnt be answering this. :) But I will speculate. :) There are many things that cannot be explained. For example, we are told that when we repent something, god forgives. Not everybody experiences forgiveness. Likewise, if we are good, we will go to heaven. Or if we are bad, we will suffer. But many times, we see bad people happier. And even if we are good, we suffer, and at times suffer irreparably. So it is natural to wonder whether god is truly there. If he is there, he should be coming to save us. Holy books try to console us by saying that if not in this life, in the life after, we will get our dues, and people who troubled us will be punished. That is the way holy books try to pacify us. But then, anything that is written is written by humans. What has been uttered about god and passed down through generations is also through human routes. What is my guarantee that the person who wrote down that holy book was not a sinner? None. Therefore, I refuse that route. I develop a direct one is to one contact with god - I ask him, I fight with him, I pray to him, I plead with him, I confide in him, just about everything. There, now I have avoided the red tape imposed on me by the religion. :) Avoided clerical staff, and approached the direct authority himself. :) Dont we do it in our day to day lives? :) I think religion shows us a way to live amicably - live and let live. But in so far as god is concerned, each one of us has to develop a separate relationship with him. Its very private. If I brandished my faith, I would feel naked because I would recall many things I asked of god that I would be afraid to admit amongst humans. So I dont think people really leave god. We just have a more mature approach I suppose because of which we are not going to temples and shrines as often. To each his way. :(
