Hi Mylotteres!!
Here in a question for you all.
Do you learn lessons, from your mistakes??? There may be four options....
1. You are so stubborn, that you don't... You do whatever you think is right, even if it hurts others, and you never care about people around you..
2. You learn lessons from your mistakes...
3.You feel sorry and promise never to repeat it again.
4.You just don't care about it afterward.
The options 2 and 3 is valid,in my regard.I do feel sorry,if I made a mistake and I also analyzed how it happens. I never prefer repeating it again.
So,what kind of a person you are?? Please share your views.

Hi Tuyakiki,
When I was a kid I used to think 'from tomorrow I won't make any mistake!' but to my surprise mistakes would happen again. And it made me wonder will there be a day ever in which I don't make a single mistake?
So since childhood I loved not to make any mistakes! But I also observed that mistakes are inevitable and no one can avoid them completely.
So when I make a mistake I just try to accept it. I say 'ok, I was wrong! I will keep this in my mind next time so that I don't repeat it'. It is not so easy to accept being wrong I tell you! But then accepting a mistake will make us learn something from that mistake.
It depends on how we handle once we make or commit mistakes.
Happy Mylotting!

I always learn from my mistakes, That doesn't mean that I won't do that particular thing again, it just means I know I have to do it a different way/go about a different way of doing it. I, personally, don't think you can call them mistakes if you don't take some kind of lesson from them.

For me with mistakes I would have to pick #2 and #3 same as you.....This is a really good discussion for me to respond too as I recently well last summer made a huge mistake in how I handled and tried to tell my best friend how I was feeling and it caused a big fight....I am now trying to get that friendship back as I feel horrible for the pain I caused...

It really depends on the situation. There are instances where I do learn from my mistakes while others I still repeat unconsciously; but I still try not to make similar mistakes in the future. And I am one that is open to constructive criticism, and I feel that is an important quality to be able to learn about your weaknesses and mistakes and learn from it. Overall, I am normally options 2 and 3, although very occasionally option 4 can happen as well (even though I didn't intend it to be that way).

Hi, tuyakiki! Great discussion! I wished that my mother-in-law could see this discussion! I am number 2 and 3. I am one to want to learn and I feel genuinely sorry for my mistakes. I try to do better so that I won't ever make the same mistake again. I feel great when I can accomplish this too.

well, in my own opinion my conscience choose not to select the options number one why? because it doesn't seem to be nice at all, you will just hurt people, i wanted to have number 3 options but don't want to make it as number for. I want to care for it and promised to myself not to do it again. you know it's just a matter of displining yourself.

I prefer not to repeat mistakes again, either. Yes, I learn lessons from my mistakes and I try not to repeat them again. I think options 2 and 3 are valid, too. Sometimes we make mistakes we have to live with for the rest of our lives but we still have to forgive ourselves for them. I know I've made a mistake like this but I won't go into detail what it was. Kathy.

I will try to remember my mistakes from the past, and try not to repeat it over again. I would try to do a better job next time and analyze it thoroughly. At what procedure or step I committed such mistakes. We all trying to better ourselves right? So, I think we can do a better job by learning a mistake from our past.

in most of the situations i will always try to change from my mistakes and i ill do it . but in some cases i will keep up the promise for some days and then i start doing the same mistake . i dont know why i do it but it just happens to me naturally and i will try to avoid the mistake even though i dont keep up the promise by just changing certain things alone . i may say that i will do things in options 2 and 4 . .

You must remember your mistakes. Otherwise, you'll be committing it every single time until you learn your way around it.
Remember:
"Whenever you lose, don't lose the lesson."
"If it was the first time you committed the mistake, it is not your fault.
If it was the second time, then it IS your fault!"

Well we all make mistakes and sure as hell feel sorry for them. But it depends on what we make. We need to learn from our mistakes but the most important thing is to make sure we never repeat them again. Because the first time we are careless, the second time our mistakes are not mistakes anymore.

Number two is the most valid to whatever kind of mistake I committed. From time to time, I am learning from my mistakes... A smart person learns from his mistake but the smarter one learn from the other mistakes... but I guess I am just smart enough to learn more from mine... I did mistakes, almost everyday--about the decision of life, however I really regretted I would wish to forget it completely but If I do I may repeat the same again... so better bear it in my mind and make it a guiding star!!! Well, I've been to your discussion, I've have the same too... but it's not yet gone... and I guess the two of us had learnt something from it... I know one of the responses is very bone-penetrating, I have mine too... you are not alone then. I wish you could still load that as soon as you get this response... I know anytime from now it would be deleted too.

I'm going to be very careful answering this dicussion. I don't want my answser to be thrown out-------
I care about anybody around me. I seldom do anything or say anything to hurt anybody's feelings and I did do that a couple of weeks ago out of a fit of anger.
The person in question didn't tell me something she knew would get me in trouble here and I told her she should have said something to me which led to many harsh words and now even after an aplolgy from me she won't speak to me.
She' s troubled person and I helped her get her figure out how to get her pay from here which took a lot of my time and she said I'd have to live and learn after the fact where I walked in making a statement that hurt me twice here in mylot . She was right I guess cuz we are no longer friends which hurts me but all the same I feel it's her loss. I feel I was the better person for helping her.Maybe I'm wrong but losing a friend wasn't worth all the mishaps.
What kind of person am I?
A good one who puts others ahead of myself. NOt one who thinks only of themselves and what could happen to them if they helped me.
Thanks for letting me mouth off !

Its not really the "the mistake" that made us not repeat it again. It is the CONSEQUENCES from that Mistake that lead us to learn a lesson. Consequences are harsh things specially when they are from negative actions. As humans, we are prone to mistakes. As the famous saying goes - no one is perfect. But minimizing getting into one is the key. It is wise to think before action. That must be why our heads are on upper most top of our body. Our Creator must have intended it to be used first before using other parts.
And as to of i learn Lessons from the mistakes i made? I give a very huge YES!
