We go out early on Sunday evening so we couldn't consume a big meal before that.
I do like the traditional English roast dinner that is usually served on a Sunday but I cook it when I know we can settle down and disgest it afterwards.

I would like to start a tradition like this when my kids are grown or when we have more funds for a big meal. But I like the idea from back when no one worked on Sundays that it was a time for family KWIM? Now days we are a 24/7 society always going going going never sitting back to watch the world go by.

My mom always do this every Sunday. She is always very busy from Monday to Saturday and the only time she can cook for us is during Sundays. Sundays are also the only time when all of us in our family are together. I actually miss this kind of setting at home because I am married now and my husband and I are the only people living together in our house though his parents house is only a few steps away from us. I miss having dinner together with my family, and I miss the laughter that we always have every Sunday. That is one of the reasons why Sunday is my favorite day of the week because its a family day.

It's Sunday afternoon here now in my country. We just had our hamburger. My husband prepared it, he cooked the patties. Most of the time, every Sunday if we are not going out with the kids we would prepare a good snack. We don't need to have complicated stuff you know. Sometimes tacos, fish balls or squid balls, sandwich, hamburger, french fries. For our special Sunday snack it is always my husband who prepares it. There are also times that he would prepare special recipe for lunch or dinner. It's special for us because he only does this on a weekend not a daily thing for him you know.

Hey icesmile! I usually do cook a nice dinner for the weekend!
I sometimes will cook something on Saturday for the entire
weekend. But, this weekend was a bit different! My boyfriend
has been off for a few days this week because the college he
works at was off for Spring Break (a bit early)! So we went out
for the day yesterday (Friday) and had a nice big Chinese lunch
out at our favorite Chinese Buffett! So tonight we are having
leftovers that I made Thursday which were fried pork chops!
And tomorrow he promised me that we will get something to "bring
in" and I don't have to cook! Yippee! But, usually I would be
cooking a nice big Sunday meal! My boyfriend and I don't get to
eat together during the week since he eats at his job. He works
in the school cafeteria and eats all his meals there and gets
home very late at night so I am on my own during the week! I
either cook for myself, go out to eat with my girlfriend or
sometimes he brings me something home!

Hi icesmile, Sometimes we make special dinners on Sundays and sometimes we don't. Today my husband made me and him a steak dinner. It was very good. My husband is a very good cook. I like to make turkey dinners at times on Sundays. And I invite the family over for dinner.

It was such a great day today and the sun was out. I looked at the weather channel and I saw that it was going to rain tomorrow. So, even though it is not Sunday yet, I brought out the barbecue, and grilled some meat. Everybody seemed to like it, and I still have a batch for barbecue tomorrow if the sun peaks out.
I'll just think of something else tomorrow for special Sunday.
