So I have a 5 minute speech to give Monday and it has to start with "I believe." I was thinking...if I had five minutes to tell people what I believed..what would I say? Well..I have a lot of beliefs but to narrow them down or choose one..well..that's tough..lol..I think I will do mine on.."I believe that success can not be measured by material possessions." If you had 5 minutes...what belief would you share?

I believe in the Constitution of the USA. But to go any further, I'd have to re-read everything to refresh my memory. One good thing about re-reading the Constitution, it's short and to the point. :} And/or you could cover the Bill of Rights. It's short too. But then your topic was pretty good...

Hi hofferp! That would be a great topic. I have another speech coming up before the end of this class...I may have to save that one for the longer speech. Thanks for responding.

I believe in God’s goodness. I believe in his benevolence. I believe when there is none to lead then He himself would come to lead. I believe that truth always triumphs. I believe I need not change friends though they might change. I believe true love continues to grow even if we are far apart. I believe in leaving my loved one with kind words, because it could be the last time I am seeing them. I believe in controlling my attitude, lest it might control me. I believe I need not wait for others to forgive me I must forgive myself first. I believe the people I care about the most would be taken away from me, soon.

Thanks Jo and a wonderful Sunday morning to you. I think I could talk for hours about the ups and downs that life has to offer..lol..once I got on a roll that is. I'm still having a tough time with speaking in front of people but I'm trying not to think about that. Hugs to you and thanks for the response.

I would say that even in a troubled world I believe in the decency and humanity in people. Despite what we see on the news every day, I believe that most people want to do the right thing and leave the world a little better than when they got here.

That is a very noble belief. I like that. I think that humanity is still alive too. Sometimes it's hard but I hope it is true.

wow yours is a great one. well i believe everything happens for a reason. we might not see the reason at once but the reason is there already. sometimes we ask to many question although the reasons are there right before our very eyes. everything happens for a reason and with that reason we have to learn so that we will not make mistakes again. learn from the reasons.

I believe if I had 5 minutes to tell someone something, I think it would have to be " Love your Mom And Dad " After just loosing my father ( I am only 23) there is nothing better to a parents love. Love them and they will love you more. They really are everything you have. If it is a step parent, foster parent, aunt, grama, who ever it is that you look up to like a parent figure, love them as much as you can, and don't waste any time not speaking to them, or fighting. It's not worth loosing out the time with them.

If I had just five minutes to explain my beliefs I would say that I believe in things most people don't because I have seen them and have reason to. I believe in a higher power but not necessarily the most orthodox. I believe in myself and feel I have alot of very genuine and rich qualities. I believe there is good in everyone and this belief has lead me on some very interesting journeys into research and the darker side of this life. I believe there is a positive and good side to things I just have to look extra hard sometimes. Have I hit the five minute mark yet?

Yes, I know how you are but, I also know that you always ACE it. I think I might have some interesting things to put forth. My room search is going pretty slow but I am being pretty picky and going slow.

Hi celticeagle! I bet that five minutes will be the slowest five minutes of my life. You know how I am about speeches and presentations..lol. I think that you would have a great speech to make and the audience would stay captivated. How's the apartment hunt going?

id say i believe in Jesus and all he taught us about loving your fellow humans and creatures of this earth. That we should at least try with everything we have to forgive those that trespass against us and treat everyone with as much care as we can.

Hi jen. Hot are u? I always admire hemingway for his moral writings and always remember some lines of his books. So for me those lines would be" i believe that i am one and unique. I cant do everything but i can do something. I believe that he is the strongest man in the world who stands most of the time alone and he knows that man can be destroyed but not defeated" thanks.

I think my speech would be more of.. I believe that we are all created from love, and we all have the capacity to love, and to care. And peace is important, not only to each other, but peace inside yourself... Err..does that even make sense? Hehehe... Anyway, it's just something like that.

If i have 5 misn to convince people of something i believe, i would get infront of them and start talking with a serious face that i believe that we are not alone in the universe. That there are other beings out there who have a more advanced technology than our ones. Who can be cleverer than we are. And who could be watching us from afar.

Integrity...nobility...equality...kindness...and gentleness or heart, soul and body! I think your topic is a great one, Jen...and I know you will do well! Are you finding the speech making part of your curriculum any easier? I am great, one on one...but put a "mic" in front of me...yikes! Please take, care, hope your weather is getting spring like...not just anticipation thereof..LOL! Rainbows..and HUGZ!

I hate the thought of getting up in front of people and speaking..lol..I'm like you...one on one...I can talk to anyone and feel great about it but put me up alone in front of people and I am very uncomfortable. The weather is actually starting to give a little here...thank goodness..I'm keeping my fingers crossed..Hugz

Five minutes... well, you can summarize and give a good speech anyway . If I had to say something, I would say that I believe in believing in oneself, as we're the ones that have the will to choose what to do or not in life, and our choices are very important. I hope that everyone can believe in theirselves too

hi! I am actually not that religious person and not that great believer, so I think I will not telling them something about the religion. maybe I will tell them, that I really believe that being unique will really help them in this life and not to change, i will also tell them, that I believe in things like Global warming, which as we see nowadays is getting really worse and worse. I am not talking about the earthquakes- i mean the increasing temperature of the Earth!
