I want to buy a dvd player and i've seen that most of them can play dvix files. Ok. Every movie i've searched on interbet was xvid and when i wanted to download it i saw it was .avi... i don't understand. So... a player that can play dvix can also play .avi ?

Avi is just a container file, it can be in divx, xvid, or mp4 format. Most players that can play divx can also play xvid and mp4 files. Just to be sure save a short clip of divx and xvid video in your usb flash drive and then test it out in the store if it plays.

Hi andu,
I have a dvix player in my house and I can play the .avi format/movies. But just in case that the movie can not been played, you can download a converter to change the .avi to any format you want. You can try Any Video Converter or Total Video Converter.
