Is it that bad to filr bankruptcy?

I think it would be because your credit is shot for 7 years. You cant get a car, or a house or anything else. I wouldn't do it unless I was in deep deep debt.

wow I heard they couldnt take household furnishing and clothes for a chapter 7 that there was some kind of law about that. Did they really take your clothes?

They took all but 1 coat,1 sweater, 2 pairs of shoes, my undergarments, and about a weeks worth of outer clothing. They also took all my tapes, cd's, records, my stereo (given to me for my birthday), and a dresser they decided was an antique that my grandfather gave to me. If I had it to dao again, I would have done something else, anything else. I lost everything, including my credit rating and a lot of sentimental possesions that were handed down to me by family.

That seems unthinkable that they would take your undergarments!!!! Couldnt you have stored some items at a relative/friends house?Also, Didnt the lawyer tell you this would happen?

lol, they didn't take my undergarments. the things I listed were the things they allowed me to keep. No, the lawyer didn't warn me that would happen.
