Why is it that when the word "Christian" or anyone of the names of God is mentioned in todays society people distance them selfs, and immediately say something like, "Let's talk of something else" or "I don't like this subject". What is it in people that forces them away from such awesome grace and our only hope?

1 Corinthians 2:14 tells us : "People who do not have God's Spirit do not accept the things that come from his Spirit. They think these things are foolish. They cannot understand them, because they can only be understood with the Spirit's help" So when you try to talk about God to a nonChristian, it's like trying to talk rocket science to someone who doesn't understand. It's boring to them, it does not apply to their life. They are not interested, and it may even convict them because they know how they should be living, and aren't. If you talk to a true Christian about God, you are going to see their eyes light up and their interest perk.

I can see your good heart and your good intentions when you mention God's name con your conversations. But sadly, sometimes when one talks about God or Christianity, the other person felt your are converting him/her to your religion.
