Searching MyLot too often...

I think, that happen because MyLot is compensating us for using the "search features" here. Maybe that's the reason why they are suspecting something when you use the search features too often :)

hi! yes, as Alice has mentioned in her discussion about the new features of mylot, we actually should not abuse the search box of the site in order not to have some problems with the administration :) so better don't use it that often. i actually use it 4-5 per week! so that's why I don't hope of any reward for me

megalancer no I have never been told I was overdoing the my lot search engine but I have not even won any reward' and I have done a number of searches with mylot search engine. another thing I really dislike about it is that it' does not very often give me the information that I was searching for. so bummer all the way around. good luck and happy mylotting.

The obvious intent of this is to prevent people gaming the search in order to get rewards. Unfortunately instead of putting it on a timer, i.e. you can only be credited with so many searches each number of minutes, if you search too close together they cut you off. This unfortunate system impacts someone who is not getting the right results from his/her search and is trying again to get meaningful results. The fault here lies in the search engine, not the searcher, but the searcher is penalized. I find myLot search sometimes does not have any search results when I can find results on other search engines. I did that once, not getting proper results and trying again too soon, and got the warning message. That was a couple of weeks ago and have not had a reward since. I think I will stop using myLot search as it is not as good as others, and they are no longer giving me any rewards.

because if your using search in mylot sometimes they will give you rewards in using it thats why other members took advantage of it. you can check FAQs of mylot then go to reward. there you will see their explanation why. anyway, not because members use search in mylot it means they will get rewards all the time. it really depends to mylot admin. as what they say, use search wisely or only if you need to.

I received this message a few times too, and it made me feel like I was doing something that I shouldn't I think it is to prevent users from spamming the search engine in order to improve their chances of earning a reward.

I think it is stupid that someone would EVER complain that you use their service too much. It is ridiculous. They are so vague as to their terms and conditions and not being precise, causes confusion, thus apparent mistakes. I'm still confused as to why they would tell us to use this new web search engine just as we would any other, yet they then put a limit on it and can kick you off the site if you go over your limit, when you haven't a clue what the limit is. I'm baffled.d But this is just how it is here, unfortunately. We cannot have everything we want.

i have been using mylot search even before the upgrade. i used to search for my previous discussions and others to make sure i am not doing the similar discussions to get rid of deletion. and after the upgrade, i use it more often, when the rewards system is offered, but i never experienced being noted at having suspicious activities.

yes, you should not use it excessively it was written in the FAQ. If you want to make something or do a search discussion discussion it should be done but must have limitations. Sometimes the results are not accurate to the search but maybe someday be useful in finding the right data.

i guess thats true. i think that if mylot members use the search engine too much each day it would be considered abusing the privlages and they might delete anyones profile for doing that. the mylot user would have to forfeit their earnings and profile will get deleted with out warning.

If that is the case, we should be really careful. We might get our account canceled by doing many searches.
