Honestly i am not. But now that i'm doing some research on germs at home, i can't help but feel dirty when i look around. There are germs and bacteria from the bed to the pillow to the floor to the walls. I tried to research on the names of fungi found on pillows. But i can only come up with Aspergillus fumigatus. But i know there are 16 types of fungus found. Does anyone happen to know what are the other 15 types?

I gave up being a clean freak ages ago, after all the housework gets done, only to have to do it all over again the next day. I keep my home as clean and tidy as necessary but I don't obsess about it any more. Life is too short to worry.

That is my way of thinking as well. Doens't matter how much you clean, turn around and tomorrow will be messy again. Showering though, I MUST shower every day, or else I just feel...gross.

I'm a neat freak. I have a daily, monthly and yearly cleaning plan. There is never any clutter in my house. I clean with antibacterial cleaning products and use antibacterial sprays. I often wish that I wasn't like this. I'm a fanatic about it.

COOL... i'm sure your house is in a much better condition than mine is. Anyway, how do you go about buying your antibacterial cleaners/sprays? Does it matter to you? Or do you just buy them randomly off the shelves?

Our house is up for sale right now and our real estate agent said that we are such easy people to work with because she can give us 5 minutes notice to show our property and our house is always neat and clean. It does drive me crazy. I can't stand a spot on a glass or a crumb on the floor. I usually stick with the tried and true cleaners that I've used forever but lately, I'm doing a little bit of experimenting. I want to keep my home clean but I want to be a little bit greener than I am.

Man, when i researched once, i remember me being so conscious of it for a few days, the bed bugs. Then again i forgot about it and don't stress about it too much, though i maintain basic hygiene.

I use to be this way but now I look at all the harm we do when we destroy natures way of controlling dirt, germs and fungus. When I was a child we were just becoming aware of all these unseen things that could damage us and as usual humans went over board and destroyed the balance. Sure we control some things that killed us but we now reap the rewards by upseting the balance and all of us will still die, some in terrible illness that was unheard of before we startedd to fix things.

LOL you are actually researching on the types of bacteria in the house lol... I don't think I am a clean freak for example my room is not always tidy and if i see a mess it is not that I can't stand it! But I do keep myself clean. I have no idea that there is actually 16 typed so I wouldn't be able to tell you! But yeah I understand if I was reading all the types of bacterias around the house it would make me feel dirty too!!

No I am not. I am a clean person. I like hygiene. I hate mess and untidiness. But that does not mean that I am a cleanliness freak. I have found this article. The scientists found over 16 different types of fungi in pillows. They identified an abundance of a type of fungus that worsens asthma symptoms. http://www.medicalnewstoday.com/articles/32163.php

I'm not but I wish I was. I love things to be clean and fresh smelling...my house and myself and my animals included. These days, I'm trying to conserve my use of chemicals and water (precious water). The other side of the coin is that I can be pretty lazy. I try to achieve a happy medium and I do that pretty near all the time.

I am not a cleanliness freak. Compare to the cleanliness freak, I am "dirty":) I don't think we should be so clean, because our body will get the infection easily since we don't practise it. I love China

Nope, I don't really know anything about fungus. But I am sure you can find lots of stuff on medical websites. I try to keep myself clean at all times and have to change my bed sheets and pillow covers regularly. I don't consider myself a cleanliness freak.

I want things to be clean but not 100% percent clean. There are actually a lot of bacteria around us and they are some bacteria that are helpful. If everything is totally clean then good bacteria is going to die. These good bacteria play an important role in some immunity and other aspects. Bacteria and germs are actually everywhere. There are even a lot of bacteria on your skin, and all parts of the body, and anywhere, as in anywhere. We will what's clean and what's not so we can already tell for ourselves when something needs cleaning or not.

Yes, I am! I cannot stand dirty areas. Like when my nieces comes in to visit my mom, I go bonkers when they leave trash like candy wrappers from all over the place. I always clean up after them. Kids!

Why - Have you not learn 't that in your childhood....? I am just wondering about your explanation and also curious what makes you to learn about the bacteria. I do not know anything about germs you are speaking as I am a clean person in my actions and work. If you are a scientist and are doing a research then it is really encouraging - but just for discussion sake if you have posted this then I advice you to please learn cleanliness........as this helps in your life.

When I gave birth to my son 6 years ago, I was at the moderate level of being a cleanliness freak. But fast-forward to the present day and one more baby, I've realized that if I think of all those germs 24/7, I will cease to function normally. But! I do maintain a home that is generally safe for my kids. And I make sure that they wash their hands most of the time. Simple and proper hand washing is one sure way of prevention.
