I have a lot to be thankful for but feel more alone than I ever have in my life. And that really doesn't make sense because I have 5 kids...so I'm never alone, but I feel like I have no one.
Any ideas on how to change my attitude? I'm reaching for the phone book to call the mental institution...

What is happening with you Stephanie5? is this related to your problem, the one you discussed here? I guess you need a friend to talk with. You are very confuse right now. I don't know how to help since your problem is not clear to me. I know you feel you are alone because your kids are just kids, there is no one you can talk to that has the same age level as yours. maybe you should ask a friends help or to stay with you for a while until everything will be okay.

Everything is happening with me. I have so much going on that it would be a BOOK if I told you everything. I just feel confused, under appreciated, annoyed, taken advantage of, used, abused and unloved. I feel like I'm invisible until someone needs something.
I live near all my friends and family that have nothing to do with me because I have too many kids, never get out of the house and can't ever make them behave when we do so I just don't even try to visit anyone anymore. Noone ever comes here.
I just don't know what to do anymore.

I'm in the same boat as you. My daughter, her husband and my precious granddaughter all live with me but I feel alone 90% of the time. I'm surprised though with five kids that you could find the time to feel that lonely that you want to call a mental institution. Do you have time to read or donate time to a hobby that may make you feel better. How about a hobby including the kids. That would make it more enjoyable if you all did something as a family. When I get into a lonely stage I will start doing all the hobbies that I love to do, such as making scented candles, playing games on the internet or playing with my granddaughter. I also like to spend time watching movies especially on lifetime and the classic channels. Watching some comedies or murder mysteries get me out of my funk of feeling lonely. Another thing that helps me is pray. Praying to God may help you more then you know. I will definitely pray for you that you will start to feel more alive and happy real soon. God Bless!

I can't concentrate on reading because they drive me up the wall the majority of the time. I can barely get on here because of their distractions. I try to play games online to keep my mind off some things and it does work sometimes, but then it's right back to reality. Everything I buy, they destroy....
I don't have cable so we don't have any T.V. out here other than movies and I can't sit still that long....I'm just so tired and cranky anymore.... Ugh.
THank you for your suggestions and the support. God Bless You Too!

It really sounds like you need some adults to talk to. I know staying home with my disabled son, I get to where, some adult communication is well appreciated. Take one day at a time, and don't try to dwell on things. That is all I can suggest.

Thanks Rob, I think that is the biggest part of it. All I do and have ever done is take care of kids and I'm burnt out and tired of doing it alone.
One day at a time =)

Hi Stephanie5.
A lot of of times I feel the same way. You do need somebody that you can really talk too. And even if you can find one person that you can trust to watch your kids for a day, and just take that one day just for yourself. Treat yourself or even just take a fresh air by walking to the park, but it really time that you can enjoy nothing but yourself. I haven't really follow any discussion since October last year, so I'm not really sure how bad your situation is. Anyhow, hope everything will work out.
