With recent economic situation, more and more trying to save more extra money on their pocket. Instead of going out for dining, they would rather pick up a recipe from online or from a bookstore, and try to do it themselves. This way, they can avoid the expense of going out to restaurant, paying for the service fee and rip - off beverage fee. Also, cooking at home might be healthier than going to the restaurants, or from getting those junk food from fast - food joints. So, are you recently trying to learn to cook at home more often?

I use to have a whole pack of instant noodle at home in case I am hungry and my mom doesn't cook that day. But, I am so tired of it as you considering about eating for good health. Now, I am switching to learning to cook healthy stuff. Quite interesting if you willing to try.

Everyone is lousy at cooking at some point. I have been cooking a while and I still feel like I am lousy - a lot. The easiest way is to use the internet or find some recipe books like the One Meal Bible, that have simple recipes and start from there. Also, don't be afraid to experiment! Cut the recipe in half and try your own ideas on it (cut it in half so you don't waste too much food if it turns out icky!).

Hi,kingparker.
I like cooking, I have a part time job in restaurant, I can cooking, mo matter chinese food or japanese food, I just want to say, I like cooking.
But, I am not always cooking on my own at home, I know a lot of people are thinking for cooking at home can save money. I do not think so, I think it is same thing. If you cooking at home, you do not just buy something, you have to pay water and gas fee. It still spend money, and also , you have to wash the dishes, It is hard to do.
I always save money by other way

ya many people are doing this. but we are Not in US. so i am not so affected person by the economic crisis there.but still we prefer the home made food. as out side we get what ever the food. that is not very good for health. m at the time of outing most people prefer some kind of fast food. which is not very good also. so i get my food at home cooked but not due to economic crisis

I usually cook more at home because I learned that from my parents. But it is hard. I have a TINY kitchen compared to what my parents have. But I have found a few really quick and tasty meals that I know I can fall back on if I get rushed. The hardest part of this is when my kids (ages 1 and 3) suddenly don't like something they have been eating great for two months!

we're trying to cook more often. We never really went out to dinner that often, but we did often grab a snack, that sort of thing. So now we're trying to cook/bake/prepare more snacks and meals in hopes of saving a bit.

yes i'd definitely do that so long as i have enough time to cook. sometimes my schedule is just so hectic i can't squeeze cooking to my daily to-do list. i'm not a great cook, no not at all, but I actually kinda like it as hobby sometimes when I've nothing else to do. I like quick and easy recipes, it gives me higher chances of success at making the dish hehe.
