I seem to make more money responding. Never give up.

Like my title I seem to make more money responding to topics rather then posting new subjects. I guess my topics just suck.
Some days it's hard for me to find things I want to respond to and think most are boring subjects. Those are they days that I seem to post new topics that entertain my thoughts and blurbs for the day.
I have noticed in the last month that I make more cents when I reply to other peoples subjects. I have only been paid out once by this site, and so far I am very happy with that.
So for all of you newbies don't give up on my lot. I see a lot of negativism on here against the pay outs, and how much we make. Just find what your best at on my lot and make it work for you.
I am only at 450 something post. I am still very fresh here. But I love it even if it didn't pay. It's a place to make friends and learn new things. I love having a calm place to discuses daily news, and get real opinions from real people.
Happy My lotting Everyone!

I enjoy reading on here and when I see something interesting I respond too. Then when/if the original poster comments on my response I will go back and comment back to them. That takes up most of my time here and I only start discussions very rarely. When I start one I then goback and comment onall of the responses and if I know that I wil not have time to do that then I would rather not start one at all.

I try to comment on all of my subjects. Sometimes I find it hard as some of the people might have thought I meant a different thing in my topics. But other then that I just try to post away and respond to as much as I can.

hi there, looks like you are absolutely into this thing like many of us. we sure do have lots of fun don't we.. well everyone has their own way to earn here, if we are good with starting discussions then we could earn more out of it but like you i don't really start many discussions and i am better at responding to other's discussions and having fun :)
yeah you are right, this is a place to make good friends and get to know so much about others and life, have a nice day. keep posting.

Many of us get our fun by just dropping in and adding a comment when we see that a friend has left a response - don't we Voldrox?

I do have a lot of fun. Sometimes topics might be boring for me but then I ask my boyfriend to come read it and it might interest him. He has fun reading my posts and others as well. He doesn't have his own account but it is fun for everyone not just me! lol

Hi there keelymcilwain...
I do the same method as you use on how you earn with myLot... Responding to other myLotter's post is way to better than starting your own discussion... In responding other's discussion, you just need about 3 or more lines to earn good cents... But, in creating new discussion, once the discussion reaches about 30+ response, that is the only time you would have good cents...
So I really prefer responding... =))

The responses that you receive on a discussion started by you, will NOT cause your own earnings to increase. They earn for those who post them, not for you.
You earn by commenting on them because each one of us only earns for what we type, not for what others type.

i am new here and was told - you want to earn just by surfing and responding to discussions then join this site. as i joined this and read some discussions i find this site very interesting and helpful because as you read the discussions and responses of the discussions i find it very useful and informative and very beneficial to me in particular and the whole members in general. everybody needs money that's why i joined this site but as i have gone through with this we did earn something(money) and we also gained friends from all parts of the world. so its hitting many birds in one shot. you not only enrich yourself with the helpful responses you also gained friends. so i will never give up. i find it easier to respond discussion rather than creating discussion which could be redundant to others because i am new to this. happy and peaceful weekdays ahead of us.

I'm so glad there is a post like this. It just encourages me. Sometimes it does get a little demoralizing when you don't see the big big amounts rolling in. And we tend to forget the other aspect of mylotting - making new friends and learning new things.

I enjoy responding to discussions as opposed to creating them! I find it difficult to create new discussions so I only do this very occasionally. I guess there is always something to talk about and I can certainly do a lot of posting in the space of an hour! I also like the fact that this is a good place to communicate with others and also learn something new. It's a nice thing to see your earnings gradually increase by the day and come payday, I guess everyone looks forward to that! Andrew

Hi keylymcilwain,
I am sure that responding and starting a new discussion have a same weight in term of earnings. It is all base on your post quality and length.
The only problem when we started a discussion is to comment every response we receive. We would only receive our earnings for our own activities. Our earnings would be same if we receive one response or a hundred responses. To make it different is by commenting every response we receive. But that is hard to do it especially if the responses are same or quite similar. Please remember that a similar post would net get paid. Some people can make hundred different answer/posts from a single question/post but most of us can not do it.
Responding to the discussion is more easier because we had a different idea and can write it a bit longer and it is hard to find a similarity especially when its come to an experience.
That why I also prefer to respond to others discussions then started my own.

I find it hard as well to respond to some of my postings. Sometimes I don't even know what some people are talking about. Maybe because they understood my topic as something else.

LOL. Yeah, we should never give up. With creating topics, I really don't push myself to start one, I wanted to create a topic that really interest me. I also like to respond to discussions more than to create multiple topics because I could learn a lot from others and at the same time I see new faces and get to meet new friends. It is hard to manage 10 topics in one day..lol. In terms of the earnings we get in here, I think the more we enjoy contributing the more we can possible earn and the less we get bored and think of money and how much we could earn. Like you, this site helps me a lot.
Happy lotting!

HI there friend.. It is really hard to think what to discuss here in mylot. But good for you you have started a veru good topic today. I almost give up posting my own discussion. I respect mylot very much that's why I always think twice before I post my discussion. Some mylotters said that it is faster to earn earn from responding to others discussion rather than creating our own discussion. For me it is better to do the same thing.. Posting discussion and responding to others discussion..

This site is great for that I think. It was the calm nature and lack of real trouble here that got me to stick around. I'm doing a good job getting paid though because my third payment is pending and I'm slowly on my way to my fourth. That's what seems important to me even if it seems like i may never get there sometimes.
I'm glad you find this place relaxing and inviting as well. Because thats exactly how I feel when I'm here too. Even if they stopped paying us I'd still be here, but probably not as much.

I do too. It seems I generate more as I respond to more discussions. It's very hard to come up with a unique discussion nowadays... or is it just me? LOLZ. Sometimes when I think I found a perfect topic, I would browse recent discussions and see something exactly like the one I have in mind. So to spare me the trouble, I just perform a lot of responding and commenting on other people's discussions. Probably one day, a unique and interesting topic will just come hovering around me. LOLZ.

Sometimes I find it like yahoo answers too. Except here it is more then just questions, it feels more like a online coffee shop. Lot's of good stories and so much to learn on this site. I find out more news on here then I do when I search for news updates. lol

Hi keelymcilwain ;)
That's what I also observed through posting and responding to discussions: I seem to be earning more in repsonding with long posts than with receiving responses from my discussion. Although it helps me a lot in earning, I still can't make a dollar with having approximately 50 responses in my every discussion than by responding to 50 discussions from another users ;)
That's just based on my observation anyway. ;) I don't usually do the count but there was a time when I just kept on responding to other's discussions that I earned a dollar and a few cents ;) That's when I decided not to start discussions drastically without making sure that it would hit ;)) I won't deny that I'm sometimes (however seldom) guilty of posting discussions for the sake only of earning ;)
Anyway, glad to see a new mylotter here. Welcome in mylot. I'm sure you'll really enjoy it here. Just a lot of hardwork will do to earn more. I advise you work hard on having a high reputation here so that you'll earn more. I hope too that you'll also be here on mylot for the next years hehe ;)
Take care and God bless

We earn for our own work here, not for the work of others. This means that when YOU start a discussion, YOU do not earn for the responses that it receives. Those who post them will earn for them.
It doesn't matter whether your discussion receives 1 or 100 responses, the ONLY way that you will earn from it is by going and commenting on each of the responses.
I type, I earn. YOU type, YOU earn.

See those are things I never knew. Well I did and I didn't for some part. I know when I type I make money but I always thought that the more popular your topic was the more responses you got would help your earnings.
I learn more and more off this site every day.

Thank you for the welcome. I will be here for ever if that is possible. I absolutley just love this site. I have never had any problems with anyone on here and I plan to keep it that way. And the hard work on here pays off. I can't remember what I purchased but I did buy something on Ebay last time I was paid out.
So everyone keep up the hard work!!!

Amazingly I have been here for years and I have yet to reach 1000 posts. I definitely have been paid a few times here though but I could have earned considerably more had time allowed me to. But I do make more money posting responses as well. My mind won't allow me to post discussions without any real meaning. I can't do "how's the weather where you are?" or "Do you have a dog?" I try to post thought provoking discussions that'll get people thinking and responding. This works for me but has not warranted me many discussions either. Though the ones I have posted I think were pretty successful as far as gaining responses and getting the blood pumping in here... I got 70 plus responses to one such discussion back in the day. I think I have been here for at least three years maybe longer...
And that number is misleading as well.. I got like 889 as I am typing this but I doesn't show when you make multiple responses to a discussion either. So I know I am well beyond that I do try to respond to discussions that I can get into enough to type more than one or two sentences, as the more you type the more you will get paid. I think I have been rewarded for the depth and not just the volume of responses here.
Never give up...

Well, don't give up. You will be getting the hang of it soon. If you want something more financially rewarding, why not try some of my online businesses which I do simultaneously with MyLot. It's only for less than 1 hour of the day and very beneficial in the long run. My wife and immediate family are now doing this. Why not give it a try?

Today is my first day on this site and I love it. Way better than Yahoo answers. B/c of what you said you van reply back to people and get paid. I have yet to see that since it's just day 1 or me. But thanks for the tips.
My discussions suck too! I've posted I think 4 and got 1 response for each one! LOL! Still fun though
