It was reported that the movie Alice in Wonderland broke the record in 3-D films. It earned an enormous 116.3 million US dollars in its opening weekend surpassing all other 3-D films including the very popular movie "Avatar". What do you think made Alice in Wonderland so successful? Do they deserve to beat other 3-D films(in terms of earnings)? What do you think guys? :)

I haven't seen Alice in the wonderland,hmmmm...maybe people are just intrigued with 3D formats but in the succeeding weeks this fascination will die down. I will only be impressed with this movie if it will surpassed the gross earnings of Avatar.

With it's opening weekend so successful I think they could surpass the gross earnings of Avatar but we'll just see how they will do in upcoming weeks :)

Its really nice to hear this. I was waiting for this movie since I heard about it. I think 3D movies are attracting crowd a little more because it has different effects from the ordinary movies. Avatar did a great business last year. But I think that movie had very less 3D effects but they were good effects. So people might be expecting a lot of 3D effects in the movie Alice in the Wonderland!! It is not yet released in India. I will definitely watch it in 3D as I watched Avatar.

I was astounded when I heard that Alice did so well in its first weekend. There was so much buzz around this movie, even I was excited for its opening weekend. I think the reasons Alice 3D did so well is because after Avatar 3D, everyone was ready and waiting for the next big 3D movie; it has some really big names attached to it that draw their own fans; Tim Burton makes extraordinary pictures that people get excited about; and the story is a unique adaptation of a story many people know and love. I think they had the perfect combination of actors, director, story and timing for this movie to have such a successful opening. I personally can't wait to see it in 3D.
