How much part of the family are your pets?

I am the type of person who loves animals and have had quite a few pets over the years.
What i'm most intrigued about is when a pet stops being a 'pet' and becomes a real part of the family.
Most of the other animals i had where all great and got my 100% care, until this bloke came along and turned my life around.
I've had Jake for almost 2 years now and he has completely taken over lives. Its been like having a kid from day one. Everything we do evolves around him.He sleeps with us, eats with us,watches tv with us, the works.
I wonder how many of you guys have actually taken the whole having a pet concept to this level.

We always treat our pets like family members I mean aren't day? of course they are. My dogs sleeps with me eats with me and i always take him to the vet regularly for check up, he got vitamins, toys. I mean just like a regular family member. He is part our lives.
