Hi, mylotters! Have you ever heard that boss always stand behind of you and watch your work? Do you like being watched by your boss when you are working?? Absoultely No, I guess, I'm sure. Whereas my boss did like this, and always walk around in our office and see what are we doing. It makes me crazy, I hate to be watched, it always makes me unset and can't concentrate on working. I hate this so much that I want to change job, but if I change job, then new environment, new product, I need to learn again. What should you do if you are in this condition. Thanks!

Hi zhcy888! I really don't like to be watched because it makes me feel uneasy and I might make mistakes while working. I'm just lucky to have a boss who seldom roams around or he'll just observe each one of us in his own quiet way. He's a keen observer but he does not distract his workers from doing their jobs. You won't even notice he's observing. Happy mylotting!

Definitely not. It really makes me feel uncomfortable. I work with the computer and when my boss is around I can't type fast and I even don't type the right letters. I guess I am just nervous when he is around.

Hello zhcy888, Nice discussion.....oh no........I never like boss or anybody else keeping a watch on my work. If I become conscious that someone is watching me.....then I will make all those mistakes that I never made before.... Actually Cultured and educated people should learn these manners from childhood. Looking like this at people's work is actually bad manners, so what if he is paying salary..... What can we do dear....some people never learn, so we have to adjust with them. It is a good job and you need it, so just try to ignore your boss. what else I can say.... have nice day.

My boss doesnt know how much I hate it when I he is behind and and trying to observe my class. I teach online to students and sometimes, he stands at the back and listen to my class. I found a way to get rid of him anyway. I use the webcam every time I have a class and my boss doesnt wanna be seen in there so every time he stands behind, I always tell my students that my boss is there and wanted to meet them. My boss knows I was joking, and he usually just go away and walk away and doesnt have to stay behind me for a long time. It was an effective way to make him go away. And I do that all the time.

Hello zhcy888 :) You are absolutely wright :) I hate being watched while at work. That's why finally I chose to be my own boss. There's noone bossing around, I can concentrate on what I'm doing, my earnings depend only on how much effort I put in what I do and I can choose my working hours myself. that was my choice, it doesn't have to be the best way to deal with this kind of situation for everyone, but I think changing environment and finding a new job wouldn't be bad for you :) Good luck ;)

IT can be a bit disconcerting because you never know why they are watching. It could be they are thinking, that lady does a great job, look at the skill involved . It could be that the boss is in a brown study ( thinking absently and just staring). You can just ignore them or if you are brave you could ask them if everything is okay?

Well, me as well. It really is annoying when someone is watching you while working but I think that is an opportunity to show your boss that you are doing great rather thinking that he is just waiting for you to make a mistake. Prove him wrong and show what you can and love your job. Just do not mind him because we can not change the fact that he is still your boss. Hope that will help. God bless

I never thought like this, always thinking i will out of mind and hate my boss so much, it makes me annoy, and now I think I should learn from you, like you say: prove him that I can do well. Thanks!

It does happen at time when we are rookies. Our bosses would stand right behind us and check if we are getting things done.It will be really uncomfortable in the beginning but once we master our job they will stop monitoring us and move over to the freshers.Hate it we may but we have to bear it in the beginning.javascript:__doPostBack('ctl00$cphMainContent$btSubmit','')

Of course I don't like being watched by my boss when I am working. I will feel so uncomfortable and nervous. And it seems that he doesn't trust me because he has to watch how I work. It will be disappointing and discouraging. I am not a prisoner. I love China

Well I don't really care whether my Boss watch me or not. I'm confident I know my job and I am doing right. In fact, modesty aside, I even know more than she does. She is only sitting at her desk most of time, signing papers and talking over the phone. So even if she watches me, I don't really care.

Hello zhcy888 I do not like it when my boss watches me. It makes me nervous especially if your solution does not match his. I did have a boss that way and he did not last very long. This boss did it everyone and want securty pass codes for department and the other department did not access. He like to be in control and on time and if you were late too. He was not sympathetic if you had children whether you were married or single he look down upon those people. He did beleive in paying for jury duty either if you had to go etc... Thanks and have a great day Sincerely unique16

For me, it greatly depends on the boss. With the office I am working with right now, I find my bosses very incompetent and they just don't fit their positions. They let prevail their personal desires never knowing what might happen to the office as a whole. They often pick on my and my officemates' little mistakes which I find very considerable while ignoring the disastrous works of one of my officemates who happen to be the girlfriend of one of my boss. With these kind of masters, I don't want to serve them nor would I want to be watched while working. They piss me off. They make me look myself cheaper than I could be. I have this feeling that I am trapped and repressed with what I am capable of doing. I am not free to grant the dreams I have planned ahead of me. This is something I find so inconsiderable and unforgivable if I happen to not to do what is right. I am planning to pass a resignation. I am looking forward for a favorable response. My work evaluation has been affected because of bias scoring. I have to search for another mentor whom I can trust forming a better me. I will find a mentor who will revive my spirit of cometence which I owned once upon a time but I find impossible to get back with. I used to rule the world with a great master. Now, I find myself inferior and repressed as these blind or deceived with power bosses of mine rule me out. But then, its never too late.

hi,zhcy888. I don't like being watched by my boss when I work too, maybe no body like that. But if you were a boss, you would like to watch your employee when they work, and evaluate whether their work are good for your company. So you must accept this surroundings and try your best to do well. My boss always comes to my lab to ask me how my work is done. At frist I was some nervous but I knew he was so friendly and easy-going. Day and day goes. Now we can talk like friends or father and daugher. So don't think it's the worst thing, and take it easy to accept it. Maybe time can solve your problem.
