Do you grumble about chores?

I admit that I do sometimes but then I try to remind myself why I am doing a chore and what it means. For example, picking up the dog poop isn't a fun thing but I deal with it because it means I get to have a dog and he's a good companion and fun to have around. I don't like ironing but I do it because it is nice to have clean clothes and as it is mostly my husband's work clothes it reminds me we are lucky he has a job in this day and age. What about you? What jobs do you grumble about and why do you do them?

Well, I only grumble about chores when I am sitting in front of the computer and it is obvious that I am very busy doing something on the computer and then someone tells you to do this and do that. I hate it when they calls me to do chores when I'm on the computer.

I try not to complain because it just makes everything worse as far as I'm concerned. I try to just go ahead and get them done. I feel like if I stand around and complain about it, then it makes it harder and harder for me to get comfortable about doing them and I'd rather just sit around and do absolutely nothing.

I used to grumble about chores. When I was young I had to wash my clothes out by hand and then I would iron them. I don't buy any thing that needs ironing now. I haven't ironed in probably fourty years. I still don't like to clean the toilets and such. It is all good. Doesn't take too long to do.

I hate chores, specially cleaning things that is not mine, or cleaning up my sister's garbage or her dirty things. I just say to myself, that I have to clean it, cause I can't just live in a room where it's really dirty even if it's not my fault, and if I don't clean it, I know she never would either, so I guess I have no choice there unless I can stand our room to be extremely dirty and unorganized.

Yes. I admit it too. Who anyways likes to do chores? But you know, there are times that I like doing household chores, but that usually happens when I am in a very good mood with a high power energy. Most of the time, I am lazy doing chores.

I grumbled a lot when I was in my teens! But I made sure my sister didn't see it or I'm in trouble. These days, I usually complain when I have to pick up after my husband's mess. I try to maintain our room tidy but as soon as he comes home, clutter follows him in no time.I grumble but I follow. And sometimes when I'm in a bad mood, I let him know that he's not the only one using the room. There was a time when I came inside and saw his mess everywhere! Then, I thought of only one solution to have it all tidied up in no time. I told him that when I come back after 5 minutes, he better make sure that the room is clutter-free or he will be going to work the next morning without any tender lovemaking from me! Well, what do you know.... I came back to a room spotlessly clean!!!

I don't grumble about them nearly as loudly as the children do. Anyway, I don't really grumble about them. I have certain ones that I do, he does others, the children do others.

I'm not too keen on chores! I find it hard to carry these out on a regular basis and I would much rather be doing other things! Still, it's important to live in a fairly clean place and so I tidy up from time to time. I don't like doing the washing up but this has to be done, I would much rather have a dishwasher to do the work for me though! I guess when you live alone it's not so bad as there isn't anyone looking over your shoulder all the time! I guess there's a feeling of achievement to be had though once you start doing thise things no matter how small! I try and do a little each day and it all builds up in the end I guess. Andrew

Certain chores I do grumble about and certain chores I do not grumble about. The boring chores I grumble about such as: doing the trashes, cleaning, etc. I enjoy doing chores such as: practicing my saxophone, working out, ironing, etc. It's good to have nice and professional clothes, so therefor I have a fun time. If I put music on during my chores it is much more enjoyable, so I always have a radio around with me or my iPod.

I've been having to have help with my chores to get every thing back on track. i'm having to move from house to home and it's been difficult keeping every thing in tacked. but its a chore and it has to be done.

Cleaning. I hate to clean. I tend to take a lazy aditude about it, but I realize if I don't two things. It won't get done, and second the dirt would not only look bad, but cause damage to the tile or wood. George, my partner is responsable for the carpet so that's not so much of a problem. Another thing I hate is laundry. I know it falls under cleaning, but I hate it too. Mostly because of the fact I have to use a public laundry mat on the property of our apartment complex and a majority of people are very inconsiderate. And, that I cannot stand.

It appears that you are a perfect housewife and you husband must be a lucky man to have you in his life. However, being a male and living in a male dominated society I am almost spared from doing household chores by my mom. However, there are still a couple of things that I am expected to do.The first one is to go to the market daily in order to buy vegetables and fish.I basically used to enjoy this until the inflationary situation that we are facing now.Going to the local market and buying goods of daily needs is a painful and irritating job now.The second job that I do daily is to clean the poop (just like you) of my dog.As my mom is allergic to dogs I have no other option but to take care of it.However, one thing is for certain that I seldom grumble about chores.

Actually, it depends on how much I have to do. I don't mind a very short pile of chores to do. Maybe a certain variety. I could negotiate and do this instead of that, that sounds like a good idea if I'm tired of a chore

Sometimes I do grumble when washing dishes. From now on thanks to your posting, I must be thankful that I have food on the table. Otherwise I would not have dirty dishes, plates to wash. Sometimes I do grumble that I have to wash the floors. Instead I should be thankful that I have a roof where to sleep. There are unfortunate people who are homeless. I have to learn to count my blessings not cursing my luck :)

I have to confess I frequently grumble about the chores, even though I know they have to be done and that I have to do them. The worst chore I have the most grumbles about is cleaning the drains - I hate it.

All stuff related to cleaning; Laundry, Vacuming, Washing the floots you name it... I absolutely hate doing it, but yet I will fast end up doing it because i cant stand to live in a mess either! In general everything which seems boring is felt like a chore, but once they are finished/completed you have a nice rewarding feeling that you did something good :)

I guess I grumble about the laundry a bit, mainly because it never seems to end. I can have it all done and as soon as everyone gets in their pj's for the night, there is another load. I get it all put away just in time to see it walking out the door, it never stays where I put it!! I buy it special baskets that must have a regurgitation feature I am unaware of, they are continually emptying themselves out, prefering that the laundry remain on the floor next to them rather than inside their fragile plastic sides. I only do it because if I did not, I would be forced to live with alot of naked boys and then the neighbors would talk and I am afraid that if I were to let it pile up on me no one would look for me until they needed their baseball uniform. Or the fridge was empty..I don't like cleaning out the fridge either.
