Hi, and congradulations on your child - and your decision to tone up again. I would think that if the two areas you are most concerned about are your core and arms (tricep area I assume?) then I would recommend the following, hopefully this should take as little as 15-20 mins. to complete. Warm up, but be sure that you are getting bloodflow to your arms, since they will be one focus of your exercise. Your core should naturally warm up with most any aerobic exercise you do. I would think that if you are not trying to lose significant weight and just tone, 8-10 mins should be plenty, depending upon the exercsie. After the warm up, while your arms are loose, I would do some form of tricep extensions (more reps, less weight for toning). If you want to do it in your home, grab a chair or stool and place it behind you. Sit on the floor, with your legs flat in front of you. Reach back and put your hands on the edge of the chair/stool and push up. This will isolate your triceps and after a number of quick (or slow and exaggerated) 'dips' you will begin to feel it. For your core, anything from regualar sit-ups to 'side-bends' will help your love handles. Side-bends isolate your obliques (love handles)and are simple to do. Grab something with weight in one hand that is easy to hold, stand up straight, lower the object straight at your side and bend sideways to lower the object, keeping your upperbody straight. Bring the object back to its start position and repeat. The more weigtht, the more you will feel it. Working any core muscles will act as a 'gridle' and suck your core in more. Good luck!

thankyou for replying ill give that a go actually sounds fairly easy to do.One other question is that ive always heard that working the muscles and building them wont get rid of fat and love handles are usually fat so will this help still.I know aerboics helps burn fat but i would lose weight in other places too and would look too skinny then

True, if you are concerned at losing weight in other places, then you should limit your aerobic exercise to just looseing up. When you build muscle in your midsection, it has a variety of effects of the body, but two that might interest you. Muscle needs energy - day in and day out - the easiest place for it to get this energy is from the food you eat, but the second area that it draws from between meals is the surrounding area. Turning fat into muscle is no easy feat and first may require some people to gain a bit of muscle mass, before the muscle begins to breakdown surrounding tissues for energy. The second good thing that building muscle in your midesction does I mentioned above. Whenever I workout and do sidebends. I find that I can sometimes see a result even the next day (depening upon my weight and effort) in the firmness of my sides. This is because muscle is dense and pulls your skin and fibers tight against it, even when not flexing (otherwise there would be no six packs in the world seeing as how muscle must pull tissue down to create a 'valley'). If you work your obliques (turning motions like a washing machine with your upperbody also works them) it will have a similar effect. The only thing you need to watch out for is building massive muscle, as this can create a barrel chest in some people, but is rarely seen in women.

Contgratulations on the new baby. I wish you much happiness. My two children are adults and I am a grandmother now. I remember that the thing that worked best for me was stretching and yoga type exercises after I had my children. I immediately lost the baby weight and my body went back to its natural tone with no problem. Good luck and God bless. Take care of your little angel.
