There are so many varieties of coffee available to drink. I like South Indian filter coffee a lot. I enjoy and drink it. Which type of coffee is your favourite? Is it just boiled coffee (making like tea), South Indian filter coffee, coffee maker coffee, capuchino or expresso coffee or any other type?

What is french press coffee? How to make it? I have a coffee filter. I put coffee powder on the top container of the filter and press it with a small holed plate and pour boiled water. The top container will have holes at the bottom of it. The decoction, drop by drop, falls in the bottom container and gets accumulated in it. Take the coffee decoction, add milk and sugar and heat little. Wonderful coffee is ready.

A french press is simply a glass jar. It has a lid with a long pole through the center of the lid & a screen that fits into the glass jar attached to the pole. It's very difficult to describe...wish I could put a video on myLot. Anyway, you put the coffee grounds in the bottom of the jar, fill with hot water, let it sit for about 5 minutes...this is the brewing stage. At the end of brewing time you push the screen filter into the glass jar & push it all the way down to the bottom. This pushes the coffee grounds down & only leaves the coffee above the screen, which you pour out into your cup.

Hi Buchi aunty,
I like filter coffee as per our south Indians have i don't like to have the boiled coffee. Even tea also i wont boil much because boiling tea leaves for a longer time form an acid and that is not good for health so i boil the required amount of milk for tea with sugar and little water once its starts boiling i add tea leaves leave the mixture for 2 minutes and i will have it. I dint like capuchino also.
have a great day

Hai Deepa, yes you are right, boiling coffee will not taste good. I do not get satisfaction at all. We make regular south Indian filter coffee at home. Have a good day.

Hello Buchi i always go for a cup of coffee before i sleep, that my wife or daughter in law make with Nescafe instant in thick milk, 'sugar-free' added, lol i have diabetic, but tea is my favorite, it is made by boiling tea leaf granuales, i dislike the dip-dip pouches given in trains
Right now i am in Hyderabad, last evening i enjoyed expresso coffe, but id didnot taste better than the one made by my wife, may be her touch makes the taste wonderful
thanks for discussion

Some people do not like expresso coffee as it is thick and a bit bitter. We make filter coffee at home. Nescafe has more chicory and I do not drink it regularly, only when I have not made filter coffee yet and I need the coffee immediately, do I drink nescafe or bru instant coffee.

I love all kinds of coffee.
When I go to Second Cup in the afternoons I have a mocha latte. When my husband makes coffee in the mornings, he brews coffee with our Western style coffee maker. Sometimes he'll make Turkish coffee on the stove, and other times he'll boil water, and use our French Press to make coffee. We also have an espresso maker, so he can make espressos, cappuccinos and Lattes at home. So to answer your question, I have no favourite type of coffee, I like 'em all.

You know one thing danishcanadian? When I was typing this discussion, I thought of you since you are an ardent lover of coffee like me and wished that I should receive your response on this topic. You have indeed responded. Thank you so much. Yes each type of coffee is unique in it's own flavour, taste, smell and we enjoy drinking these varieties. If at all we meet anywhere, I will make good South Indian filter coffee for you and your husband.

Yes Kalav56 madam. The same type of coffee, put coffee powder in hot water, boil and mix with milk and sugar. The way you described the coffee, 'good strong, steaming hot filter coffee', oh! I feel like going to kitchen and have it hot hot right now.
