on the Birds and the Bees, difference of Male and Female Doggie
Yesterday in my Discussion letting you know that I will be of line for a while again due to my Move I said that I would take that time to explain certain things to the little Man and you are all wondering what he has been up to lol well lets put it this way I was really embarrassed did Gissi care NO
I took him to the Field yesterday Morning, he loves it there, the Guy with his Grey Hound Puppy and the older Greyhound was there, the Puppy come charging up to Gissi, knocked him rolling on the Grass, Gissi was not happy the Puppy got the evil Look but the Puppy did not care lol I thought it was funny anyway lol
I was standing talking to the Guy, he had the older Dog on the Lead and I was stroking itthe poor thing is 11 and has an injured Leg, next thing I know Gissi is there and is trying to mount the Greyhound again, like on Sunday, of course he can only get the leg, I am going round in Circles trying to get the little beggar of
He kept going for it, I was getting angry with him but did he care no he didn't, I was apologising to the Guy, who thought Gissi was funny
I then said to the Dog ' You poor Girl, I will get him of and put him on the Lead' well here is the shock..... the Guy says to me, it is a boy, arghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh, well that was it then, I am there trying to get this little Rascal of and explaining at the same time that it is a BOY not a Girl, he is embarrassing me by not stopping, I got him of again and he gave me an evil look which I did not care about
The Greyhound called Tom, was getting upset so I put Gissi on the Lead, kept him away from the poor Dog, Gissi was pulling as he wanted to get to Tom, I was about to tell him of, when next thing the Puppy comes charging up with a Stick and ran into Gissi, well Gissi shot after him forgetting he is on the lead and does a loop through the Air as he comes to an sudden stop, who gets the look and the Growl .......yep me
The Puppy has decided to bug Gissi so I let Gissi of the lead thinking he will be distracted, well he chased the Puppy then done a detour and headed straight for Tom, to mount his Leg, that was it for me, I told him we are going home as he cn not behave, so of he trots and he is mad at me
I told him that I shall explain to him, when he mounts a Male Dog, there will not be a production of Gissi,s and that he needs to pick on someone his own size as it does not work on the leg either
Well he was that upset about it all he did not eat and he did not speak to me
The Guy told me that there are a couple of other Dogs that try to mount his Tom, I wonder why?
Do you know an explanation for that??????

Ever time I bathed Fang adn got him clean Cherokee and Coe would both keep fol;lowing him and try things like licking ears and other places Fang woiuld have none of it and if there was that smell in the air! they can smell it 3 miles away.
they would try to tear Fang up big a** fight.
we really had to keep them seperated every time neighbors dog came into heat.
Guess they are like men they dont care as long as they can lololololol I am just sure you didnt get thru to him that Tom wasnt a girl

I have no idea why other male dogs are trying to mount Tom. Poor Gissi, He just does not understand. Yes, it may be time to have the "talk" with him. I hope you are able to help him understand. Maybe some picture books will help when giving the "talk".

What a picture that put in my head!!!
STOP worrying about Gissi. It is VERY NORMAL in the animal world!!! Especially with Gissi's attitude toward life...he was just telling old Tom that he's the TOP DOG in the field & he BEST NOT mess with his Mum!!! It appears that as big as Tom is, he's a submissive male. If not, Gissi might have lost his sassy little head!!! Just because Tom is a big dog, it doesn't mean he is dominant in nature & it appears he has the little dog mentality much like Gissi is a little dog with a big dog mentality!!! My male is submissive & my female rides him ALL the time. Then when I walk out the door, he doms up & shows her who is boss (as long as it is in front of Mom). He also used to ride his bed...now that was GROSS!!!
My 2 males cats were born within a week of each other. They were not littermates, but have been together since they were 6 weeks old. They've always acted like brother until Spring came in the air this year. They go through a ritual every morning declaring their dominance. Recently part of that ritual has become mounting each other. I've noticed that the one on top is the Alpha Male for that day.
I used to have another male dog who didn't like the neighbor's dog being near me so he'd mount his face & bang him between the eyes to get the message across that HE was in charge!!!
I don't think this is an indication of being gay on either side. I just think poor old Tom NEVER gets to be the Alpha Male & ALL the dogs in the neighborhood know it!!! ROFLMAO

Sorry I know I should be laughing but reading your discussion gave me the giggles. That poor hound must be the target for all the canines in the area, greyhound or gayhound?

Maybe Tom is really pretty?
My neighbor's dog Gonzo is "fixed" and yet he loves to hump a stuffed toy dog...

Must be a fatal attraction....my Reggie used to do the leg of a certain visitor....no one else just one neighbor who used to come by once in a while. It was an embarassment but no one could explain the attraction! LOL...they are so silly.

Hi gabs, Gissi appeared to be having a good time, did you ever think that he might be gay? I hope you wouldn't hold that against him. There are thousands of accounts of homosexuality in animals and we still have much to learn regarding both animals and humans. On the other hand, maybe it was just play. Blessings.

Pose I would never hold it against anyone if they where Gay it is their life, be it Gissi, my Children or Friends
I would never change towards them
I have a few very good Friends who are Gay and they mean the same to me as all my Friends do
So no Gissi will always be my little World lol
I understand that it is Gissi showing Tom who is the Boss lol

Dogs go off smell, so maybe there was something weird about that dog's smell. Heck maybe he just lays down some place where there are female dogs. Too bad you can't get Gissi a better smell identifier, sort of like glasses for the nose or something.

Maybe, through dogs' eyes, Tom is quite the stud (no pun intended lol) and both male and female dogs get a bit too excited when they see him.
Actually, I don't think dogs have a preference. Not only towards gender but also of species! I had a puppy awhile back who tried that with my rabbit. Not only was this VERY strange to see, but my puppy was a female (so was the rabbit)!
My girls will sometimes get a bit too excited when they're in a playful mood and try that with each other... and they are mother and daughter!
They just get too excited sometimes and, apparently, it doesn't matter WHAT it is, they'll try to mount it.
That same dog I had who liked my rabbit a bit too much would also, uhh, ahem, well, she would do to herself what she had tried to do with the rabbit. She'd do this outside in the back yard and neighbors would ask me what she was doing, since doing this to herself meant that she was practically rolled into a ball (with her head down at her, uhh, other end) and rolling all over the place. It was both extremely comical to watch and extremely embarrassing at the same time.
So, I'd have to say that, in the canine family at least, it doesn't matter where, when, who or even WHAT... when they get the urge, they go for it.

I know Gissi used to try and mount one of our Cats but only the one lol and it was the one that used to boss him about lol
The only time he did a Teddy is when Cookie (she was my Son's Dog) used to be in season I used to shove a Teddy between them and Gissi thought well you know what he thought lol

maybe Tom is gay and playing "queen" in doggy communication? just a thought. have you seen the movie "legally Blonde 2"? in that there is her little dog and a big dog. they like each other but it shocks her that her dog is gay. they are both male

OMG!Gabs, I can't stop laughing! I can just picture
Gissi carrying on! He is too funny! And now I will tell you a
story about his Cousins, Star and Luna! I think if the three
of them get together we will really be in for a treat! Star
has a bed behind the computer in the corner because he likes
that spot! So sometimes while I'm on the computer Luna sneaks
behind it to "visit" Star! Now, I never pay any attention,
but apparently the boyfriend does! So boyfriend comes home
around 10:00pm from work, stops by the kitchen/office to say
hi to me and says "they're doing it again" "they're doing the
"humpty-hump"! Apparently, Luna keeps mounting Star and I never
see it because I don't even know Luna is behind the desk because
I'm too busy mylotting, but Lonnie is always catching them!
So, I just yell at Luna to get off his brother as usual and keep
laughing! Now they are both neutered so I have no idea what this
is all about, but you Gissi story reminded me of his Cousins!
So, I tell Luna to stop doing the "Humpty Dumpty on his brother!
So, you think you have a crazy Gissi! Wait till we all come to
visit! Love and Hugs, Leslie, and the Humpty Dumpty's
