You may have to define "alone." If by alone you mean that he does not get married to anyone all his/her life, then yes, it is possible. We do have a lot of priests and nuns who (at least they claim) are celibate. There are just people who cannot settle down. I have never been married because I have not met the person who I cannot live without. I refuse to be tied down by conventions. I believe in love, and it will be my only reason to get married. In the meantime, I intend to live it up!
But if by alone you mean no family (not even distant ones), friends or neighbors, it is difficult but not impossible (don't forget Crusoe).

^^ I agree with that! In fact, I think I'm one of those people. I also don't get why most people my age (I'm turning 22 this year) are desperate/anxious to get a boyfriend/girlfriend, especially during Valentines' Day. Like they view being single as a curse or something. For me, being single is a HUGE blessing - I get to do what I want plus I don't lose some of my privacy hehe.

I think alot of people can live alone but dont want to be alone, if you live by yourself you might want company here or there but the rest of the time you want the house to your self people would rather want a partner live with them than a friend, because they want that cuddle compassion, and to be able to walk around how they like. but to not have any family though its still lonely i mean who do you talk to if you have a problem everyone need someone they can relate to.

Hello umit_umit :) I think it's important for most of us to have a family. Although there are some people, who feel good without husband or wife or any kind of relationship. They are satisfied with what they have. Usually they have friends they can trust and that's enough for them.
