Delhi education department has dedicated the month of January to girl child. Not only concerned at just improveing the gender ration at birth, but also focusing on the 0-5 age group, which is critical for health care and ntrition, the department ahs planned a month long series of events on spreading awareness over the issue. The catalyst for such an initiative is high school drop rate among girls and dismal health care protection rendered to girls.
