Will a presidential system work well in India?

India's present political system based on parliamentary democracy has often been blamed for creating delays in decision making and policy log jams. The political crisis over the Indo-US nclear agreement and women reservation bill are the best example of crucial decision being held up by party politics. Does India need to shift to an alternate system to ensure smoother functioning of the govt. and speedier policy making?
