It was surely believed that Manchester United as a complete team had its roots on the likes of Christiano Ronaldo and perhaps Tevez. This believe was very common amongst the opponents who thought that United would even strive to only remain in the top 3 by luck or by mercy.
On many occassions though,Man u.was missing some of its famous players who had left the previous season but currently I am seeing the top flight has become so competitive that the opponents are almost giving up with it and simply to let Man.u retain the Barclays tittle the fourth consecutive time, something to be a record.
As a manchester united giant, what do you think about the departure of some of the key players?

Manchester United have had a good season till now. Already they have won one cup in the Carling Cup. The key for United has been the phenomenal performance of Wayne Rooney. Manchester United without Rooney just does not seem to have the cutting edge, so for me he is the key for Manchester United this season. As long as he is scoring for fun, Man U are doing well.
Cheers!

ManU is certainly having a fantastic run lately! they've beaten a team like AC Milan in both the legs of the champions league round of 16 tie to advance to the quarter finals for the fourth consecutive season. i'm very impressed by the way they played to hammer Milan 4-0 last night! Rooney's in red hot form and with him playing like this - really opponents are in trouble. the other players are also playing very well and combining well.
look, ManU don't have many famed stars in their squad like other teams like Real Madrid do - but they've always been consistent for over the last two decades under Sir Alex Ferguson. he's a fantastic manager and knows how to bring out the best from the players he's got. they don't necessarily have to be household names in the world. in fact, they are exposed to the world by him and the club. after they become famous, other clubs buy them. unknown talents are groomed by him and the club. who knew about cristiano ronaldo before he played for United? Sir Alex has a big role in what he is today. likewise, many other players have been groomed by him and the club.
even the current team don't have household names after ronaldo and tevez have left, except for rooney. yeah, they have nani, vidic, ferdinand, park, rafael, fletcher, evra, berbatov, etc. but they are not that much of household names. but the team has always been performing consistently with whoever they have, and that's amazing!
i'm not saying they will win the premier league or champions league this year too. i'm talking about there consistency over the years with the relatively mediocre players they've had. and that's the most impressive thing about United and Sir ALEX FERGUSON!

HI adaako..... Manu is never like before when C.Ronaldo was there....but still they are above my expection, fortunately Rooney seems to fill da gap & always comes for rescue....and real concerning things might be that, they seems to be depending too much on Rooney.....about the title its very difficult to say till Now....n its between Manu & Chelsea...i rule out Arsenal....cos i feel they're too unpredictable with a very shaky defense

I would say that they are on a roll and that too on a good roll so far.......by the way we as a ManUTD fan will always miss the skills of a play like David Beckham who has been with MANUTD for a very long time and really sparkled too.....I still feel that if manutd can make it to the semi-final then they are 80% chances that they will win the title again this year too......

Friend it is too early to say that ManU will retain the title for the fourth time in succession.Yeah I agree with you that the top flight has become extremely competitive and there are at least three teams ManU,Chelsea and Arsenal who are very near to one another and anybody can win the title.Big teams like ManU has sufficient bench strength and so even when a few players leave the club it doesn't affect their overall result. This is precisely what ManU is experiencing at the present moment. The departure of Carlos Tevez and Cristiano Ronaldo has been overcome with the introduction of Nani,Valencia and the terrific form of Wayne Rooney. However, what is a worrysome feature is that upfront ManU is relying heavily on Rooney and their is no one else who can score a winner.Opponents of ManU will find this weakness very easily and if they start blocking Rooney then ManU will definitely will find it hard to score and win games. However at the same time I do believe that Sir Alex has a few aces up his sleeve like Macheda who can turn out to be potential match winners.

I agree with you friend that MAN U in almost all cases rely deeply on Wayne Roney for the winning goals.
I also think that the opponents have still failed to block him yet and that is why with him in his current form,MAN U can still gain big just to sight an example of yesterday's match which truely he was to get a hard trek if not replaced.
thanks for being a Man u great!

So far,so good... I will be very happy if tomorrow I still think the same. Tonight I expect to see the best match for MU for this season so far.
Manchester United is a great club and Christiano Ronaldo and Carlos Tevez are just two of hundreds good players who was part of this team. It's quite possible, Wayne Rooney to score more goals than Ronaldo did preveous season and to prove that he is may be a better player than CR.

Well i guess the team is not made by just a few players , when ronaldo left the team i was also one of the people who thought maybe the performance of Man U would get affected , But they have proved us all wrong.
The team gelled with each other and managed to wind even in crucial fixtures.
They are really a great team and would continue to do so.
They still have some of the finest players in the world and i think Rooney is still one of the very best.
