if your employer do some downsizing by cutting your work hours? There are some big changes at my work place. Some people got laid off and lose their job, and for us that still move on with the company will be expecting less hours. Right now I can't really complaint about it. At least I still have my job with the hours that not killing my family time. I was thinking about getting another job, but the job market still really unpredictable. So I decide to hang on it. If this happen to you, will stay with the company or you quit and try to find another one?

Hi! It would all depend on the job market and the economy. If I move to another job, will I feel secure in it? Will they pay me more or the same as I was being paid by the other company? Can my husband and my finances handle a job change? There's a lot of questions to consider before actually making a move.

Yea I think most likely we just stick it out and see what we can do later when the economy is looking up. Or we go to classes to get education in another field and then search for a job in said field.

Employment is really low now, as you have just mentioned so it would definitely be unwise to leave your job just to find yourself looking for another. It's better to just hang on and maybe try to look for some earning opportunities on your much bigger free time due to the cut in working hours. I would feel lucky to be still keeping my job and feel very sorry for those who lose theirs.

I definitely not quit first. Like you said, probably get something else to do on my free time that can earn extra money. I feel sorry too, even 4 of my managers are gone.

Well, I have been unable to work for the last few weeks but my employer cannot sack me for being off sick. I may well not be able to carry out all the duties of my current role on my return, but they have an obligation to give me the opportunity of working elsewhere in the organisation. Of course, they could offer something i was not prepared to do or somewhere that i wouldn't want to travel. I dont have a well paid job but it covers my bills so i'd like to hang onto it rather than go looking elsewhere.
