I have seen numbers of single lined discussion now in mylot. Most of them are new user. What is ....? do you.... So on. With some very common question they start discussion one ofter another. And most of such discussion are lying in mylot without response of one or two response. This time in new discussion you can find more than 50 such types of single line discussion. Even some discussion are started with single word. Are not those garbage in mylot? The more details you provide, the more likely you are to receive responses to your discussion. Is the instruction from the site by the side of writing box. They have not notice that instruction or they ignore it. What you think on the single line discussion. I think we all should report against single lined discussion. Single line discussion are more close to quiz. When I open any single line discussion I feel that I am participating any quiz completion. Should we report admin about those single line or single word? To the single liner.... Why are wasting your time? Why you produce numbers of single lined discussion. It is best to produce one or two good discussion then to produce numbers of single lined meaningless discussion. If I am wrong then I have nothing to say. I have already said what to say from my part.

Indeed there are sooooo many of them You ask if they should be reported. In the Guidelines we are told: "Don't Start a new discussion unless you have something of substance to say Don't Start discussions asking for one word answers like “Yes or No”." http://www.mylot.com/o/guidelines.aspx If those topics fall under one or both of those violations then I report them. If there is nothing to DISCUSS then it is not a discussion - and that's what myLot is about. It is not a question and answer site like other available sites. If you want to earn here then you must DISCUSS not just post for the sake of posting. In fact all those Lotters who are complaining that it takes ages to earn here are not doing what myLot tells us to do I doubt whether those who start those one-liners will have the patience to read all of your topic so please don't be disappointed if none of them come and respond

Oh what's out for your tender heart my friend. Maybe they are just so new her they do not yet know how to do a more quality discussion. I could not blame them. I would admit I did such before. But I realized it's not really good to create a one-liner discussion. If they are here for earnings---oh, they would hardly get a cent. And---not all of them, I have my friend who have (12) in number in her username, I know she quiet enjoy myLotting now and she actually did some verygood posts. You know why???? I told her what do hahahaha. And of course she repeatedly read the guidelines. For the one-liner post, there are just two outcome: 1. Get deleted & and not earn a cent 2. Get replied with few and get hardly any cent And all of them are a waste of time!!!! Diana, I miss you....

Meaningless single lined discussions are boring. Referrals posting in discussions are violence. Repeat discussion is a problem. Copy of discussions are headache. Only one solution and that is reporting. But in reporting to know whether the reported discussion are deleted or not we need to post a response too. Because after deletion we come to know from the notification mail. But we have to loose our activities. Time loss and earning loss. Most of the user are not interested in reporting. How much can some people do in huge numbers of violation. And if violation are not reported then it is hard for the admin to reach there. If all the user put interest in this matter then it would be easier.

@ prime I'm here and have not left. Maybe you just didn't see me today? I didn't say that I don't leave a comment before reporting did I? You have absolutely no idea how many notifications I rceive every day because first I respond and then I report @Aaleexix I agree that all those instances that you mention are just so tedious and tiresome both to see on site and to report -but we are asked to help out so we should ALL do so. It seems that some Lotters think that reporting is 'none of their businses' and they do not realise that this is THEIR community amd that if we wish for myLot to continue to be the paying, quality, fun site that it is then we must ALL help out. Some of the new users listen when we advise them and we are only too happy to help them. Those that want to do it their way should go elsewhere

Well, I guess it depends what you are asking. There could be a good single line discussion if it is profound. I mean, such questions as: Do you believe in an afterlife? Or, Have you ever hitchhiked? I wouldn't report a single line post, but I may choose to not respond to it. Maybe the single posters have short lunch breaks and want to get their thoughts in before the bell.:)

Any topic, like those that you seggested, that can be answered with 'yes' or with 'no' are a violation. They are NOT a discussion but a quiz.

Maybe they are trying to get into the Mylot World record for most posts in a day.

You have a point here. Some topics are there those can be started with single line. But the presentation like a quiz is not perfect for any discussion. We can elaborate the matter clearly for discussion. Time factor is considerable. But normally I have noticed that single liner poster post one after another. So shortage of time is not a factor for them. I have noticed today that a single loner post more than 15 discussion in a queue. So I think that user has time to make a elaborated discussion.

I have seen a lot of those single lined posts here especially from newbies. I don't remember whether I ever post single lined discussion before. But I am always someone who is very detailed when I write my subjects. By now everyone should know what this site requires. Single lined discussions has no place in mylot and rather than wasting time posting one liner discussions they might as well not post at all as at the end of the day these posts will get deleted.

I have reported most of them. As mylot advice us to be descriptive as much as possible, it is indication that mylot want elaborated discussion. In rare case some discussion started with single line sometime got interested with interesting response and follow up. Normally single lined discussion are got deleted or laying without response like garbage. Those like unwanted heap of waste material. So I think we should report such discussion to bring notice of mylot admin towards those. If admin considers those as unwanted then they may delete those. And if such single lines got deleted then the trends of posting single line discussion may be changed. And the harmful thing is that if any other myloer responds such discussion they also loss their point along with the deleted discussion. Single lined discussion causing harm to the earning other user.

As I've said earlier, there are two outcomes for one-liner posts: Please watch out newbies, THIS is FOR YOUR GOOD!!!! We do not mean to hurt you or get you away from here. To wit: 1. Get deleted soon & get zero cent. 2. Get replied by few who would sacrifice their effort to help you (If not deleted now but it has the possibility to be thrashed soon as the admin would swiped out some scratches here) & get hardly any cent so close to zero. And take note: Both two are wastes of time. Tips: 1. think of an interesting topic 2. Check first if you have some similar topics with the others 3. Plot it down in a considerable sentences 4. Post it and wait some fellows to drop their pretty responses 5. Comment back. Respect their opinion DO this everytime you feel like to host a discussion And if you want to response to other discussions posted by our fellows here, this might can help you also: 1. Read the Title 2. If it catches your interest, open it 3. Read again the body... think twice if you really like to response 4. Do not drop comment if you think you could not contribute something in there 5. Look for another topic and repeat 1-5. Note: there are some good topics that you could not really drop some comment or you do not have any idea about, so please go back there if you feel you have some idea in mind already, or your response would be ignored. Thank you.

Very good response. Those deleted discussion resultant to zero to the poster and other those who put their effort to respond them. How much other sacrifice for them? Tip for posting are very useful to all. Preparing a interesting discussion is very important here. Caution should be taken to escape from deletion. Because if discussion is repeated there is maximum chance to being deleted. Comment on response and followup comment makes any discussion more and more interesting. In participation in any discussion we need to read the topic and response with a interesting way. Meaningless response are not interested and normally those are ignored. And meaningless lines to any topics are dishonor to any discussion.

If I can write and express ideas in a simple way and understandable manner, I would go for it rather than stating opinions which is lengthy but has no meaning at all.

Simple expressions are the best way of expression. Unnecessary long discussion are not interesting. But it is very hard to make people understand in simple single line. How can we make other understand our thought and view in a simple manner are the best discussion.

I don't know if someone's mentioned this, but if you genuinely can't think of an interesting topic, don't just throw out a topic off the top of your head. Read and respond to discussions you find interesting instead. Please don't feel as though you HAVE to post a discussion every time you're on here.

I will try to follow your advice. Yes if we have not any good composed discussion we should not post any discussion. We can participate other discussion of our interest.

While were were all 0 new users, most of us read the rules and abide by them, but I agree that there are far too many one liners, most of which break the rules. I simply ignore them now, although there are times when the whole page is filled with one liners by new users *sigh*

If whole page will filled with one line what will be the name of the discussion. Would it be remain discussion or turn into quiz? I think one liner would like to change the name of the event to quiz.

I am new to myLot, but not new to the concept of laziness. A lot of people want to do the least amount of work that they can do to earn money. What I have found out is, there is no easy way to make money for most people. You should do your best, and for someone here that is definitely only posting when you have an opinion or a new concern. It's sad to see these one liners, because I go and try to start a discussion and spend a few days planning it, then I have someone with a one liner cover my hard work up. But I guess one day it will pay off for trying my hardest. Another pet peeve of mine is when people type with terrible grammar or bad format. I understand that people occasionally make mistakes, but I see some consistency in most users.

Choosing the easy way to make money they do harm to the other. Because if some other respond them, then with the deletion of the single lined discussion other responder have to loose their point and earning. Grammar mistake is obvious because all the people are here not from English native. And many of us are practicing English through discussion. Personally I write horrible English and people tremble after reading my writing.

I guess a lot of newbies here want to try out the site without reading the terms. I agree that single liners are a waste of time because more than likely, they get deleted. When I feel like it, I try to respond to them and point out their errors. Who knows, they might just need a little advice, and they can become good lotters. We were all newbies once.

I also try to respond them pointing out that discussion should be descriptive. But most of such discussions are deleted. So we have to loss our point along with there discussion. But for the better environment of the side I eventually do that. Waste of time and point with earning is a matter of worry in this case. It is the waste of time for the poster of single liner and the user who respond those discussion. In rare occasion some discussion started with single line got interesting with the active participation and perception of the user. But most of single liner are lying with out response or minimum responses.

There will be always differences for the new and old. Old is Gold. The new user to be welcomed and they should be guided to correct them, and reporting is not good.In the days to come they will also get trained to write more and more sentences with information. Some may have problem with the languages also. All will get trained in a sooner date. Let us wait for the day.

I am also a new user. But after joining the site I try to understand the character of the site. I think this site is not a place for meaningless writing. And reporting any discussion is not final decision. It is an information to the site administration. The report point out the admin to review the discussion. And all reported discussions are not deleted. It is a question to the admin whether such discussion are relevant for the site or not. If the admin consider those as relevant for the site they must not delete those. New user are like trainee . And in the training period there wrong should be pointed out. Deletion of abused material is also part of training. We know what types of discussions are not wanted for this site form the deletion of such discussions.

I am one of the new users but since i started using the site i have never just used one liners. If i have a question I just go on and eventually figure it out for myself.I think we should report everyone that uses one liners. I will admit when i comment to some of the responses for my discussions i will use one liners but not in disscussions or responses

In response and follow up single lines even the single word is also useful. But starting a discussion with a single line is not right way of discussion. You approach is appreciable. Being a new user your are aware of the right meaning of discussion. You are most welcome.
