I do always reserve my flights on line and I book directly with the airline. There are two airlines that I fly most places that I go and I signed up for email alerts. If I don't find a bargain that way, I usually check Expedia.

floridia,
Since, airlines in my part of the world has stopped giving out agent commissions and that their fares are common rated, travelers both leisure and corporate would just book from their preferred airline's official websites direct like:
Full cost airlines
ww.britishairways.com
www.cathaypacific.com
www.singaporeair.com
www.thaiairways.com
www.virgin-atlantic.com
www.united.com
Or, budget airlines
www.airasia.com
www.tigerairways.com
Once in a while, we may need to have certain flight and accommodation packages and I just find Zuji to be quite reliable and credible service.

I've used a few other domestic US airlines like Southwest, Delta and American Airlines as well in the course of my travels.
