Where was God during the Holocaust and Slavery?

I have gotten a lot of responses from people that ask why didnt God stop the holocaust or slavery, why did he not end the suffering of the people. The thing is I believe that God did help the people who suffered, Throughout history those things have changed. Moses freed the slaves. The slaves in the US were not only freed but now a black man is the president. The holocaust did many horrific things but now Jews are free to live as they please. When there is suffering people tend to make God the bad guy. These bad things that were done were man made. Man created and carried out the holocaust in his search for supremacy, slavery was a way to increase the labor forces in the US, free labor. Whatever the reason for these things or peoples interpretation of them, they were still man-inspired. What is of God is the numerous times he let his people Go!

God created Adam and Eve with a difference. Unlike other creatures, they did not have instincts to guide them. He gave them a superior mental development and the power to reason. He told them what they must do and what they must not do. Then He left them in the Garden of Eden (state of ignorance) all by themselves. God had expected them to survive amongst other creatures though God knew they were armed to their teeth. Adam and Eve on the other hand did not even have hair on the body to protect them. Still, God forbade them not to live by their instincts as animals do (He had asked them not to eat the fruit of the knowledge) but live according to their conscious motives. Despite God’s command, Adam and Eve had opted to live according to their base nature. They did not live according to the new nature that God had given them. The environment God had created for Adam and Eve to live was not just right for them. May be they came into this world ahead of their time. It was too hostile for them to survive. God realized the humankind would never be able to survive in such a hostile condition with Abel's nature, therefore, he chose to propagate the future generation with Cain's seed but not of Abel. We know Cain killed his brother Abel. Therefore, we are the children of our father Cain who was a sinner from the beginning. God knew that the man He has created in His image, in His likeness had an inherent fault in him. He just cannot live according to the divine nature he has given him. He must live according to his base nature. Seeing this God had established a covenant with Cain's generation. He gave them His word that He would come as His own son to save them. God kept his word. This is all He could do to protect us against our own nature. Between the time God had created Adam and until Jesus came, he did not forsake them. He had sent Noah; he had sent Moses; and He had sent His prophets to guide them. Another aspect of God's covenant with man is that whenever there is none to lead the humankind He Himself would come to lead them. After advent of Jesus, He has sent us the gift of Holy Spirit, which entails a condition. Jesus had said, "Believe me and you will have eternal life". How many of us are willing to believe in Jesus. We expect God to guide us at every step; we expect God to be with us all the time to save us. Little we realize that God had created us so we could manage our own world for ourselves. This would have given Him more time to create the new world He is creating for us. However, we refuse to grow up. We still look up to Him for everything though we are not prepared to do His will. Nevertheless, God has not forsaken us. He said He would come again. However, this time when He comes it would be the judgment day. He would take away the fruits of the seeds he had sown. The weeds Satan had sown he would ask his reapers to cast them into the eternal fire of Hell. He will salvage even those who are of Satan but accept Jesus as their savior. Those who do His ‘Will’ they may continue to do so, but those who don't must pray for their salvation.

We are not all seed of Cain for one, he was not the only child of Adam and Eve, second he murdered his brother because of Jealousy, not because God wanted him to, which is why he was punished. Nor was the Garden of Eden a virtual paradise to hostile for Adam and Eve to live in. He did not make a covenant with Cain except that he be cursed but there were other people on earth besides Cain. Just wanted to point that out. While I agree with some of what you said your take on the bible is wildly out there. But thanks for your comments.

Genesis 4 Seth also had a son and he named him Enosh You do know that Seth is Cain's brother by Adam and Eve right. Seth is the patriarch who eventually gave us Noah. Seth had Enosh Enosh had Kenan Kenan had Mahalel Mahalel had Jared Jared had Enoch Enoch had Methuselah Methuselah had Lamech Lamech had Noah Maybe you came from Cain but everyone did not sorry. You may want to consult your bible again.

Cain beget Enoch, Lamech was begotten from Enoch and Lamech begets Noah. As written at. Genesis 4:17; 4:18-23; and Gen 5:30. It shows that we all are descendants of Cain and no other. Noah is the patriarch of this generation after the great deluge. I did not say he made a covenant with Cain but He made a covenant with Cain's seed.

Well, to be someone that build the world in 7 days, seems He's not in an hurry helping his "childs". Just to refresh the memory, slavery was not something bornt in US to increase the labor forces in, the Egyptians have had the slaves 5000 years before Christ. It means slavery was something commonly praticed and accepted for more than 7000 years. Now a black man is the president of US, but not much more than 50 years ago "n i g g e r s" (that's the name US people used to call them for centuries, we should never forget this) were still aphartaited in US too. Seems also that He totally forgotten about several "minor God childs", like native americans, incas, maya, atzecs... all people wich was destroyed by other "God childs", often in the name of God, togheter with their own cultures. About the jews, they were not only prosecuted during the shoah, their whole history is a drama. And we could also talk about the reasons why He send us some great catastrofes (heartquakes, typhons, tsunami and so on) that always kill thousands and thousands of poor people. Conlcuding, I must cite Jules Renard, that from my point of view, said the most smart thing about God: I don't know if God exists, but it would be better for His reputation if He didn't.

Yes Pastor, that is a common question among people. It is easy for people to doubt God when there are a lot of sufferings in this world. And then He is blamed for them. I am really hurt when I hear those words. If there was no God or any help from Him, then there wouldn't be church, volunteer workers, and other people trying to reach out to help people in need. They are God's instruments. If He wouldn't speak or use His powers directly to stop the sufferings (because God is too great for us to face personally), He helps in many other forms, some most of us are too blind to see or acknowledge.

Some times God give us suffering because we forget about him and not trust in him in times we are free of pain. This is a reminder for us people to love God more. That even at our darkest hours He is always around to care for us.

People tend to realize that GOD was not there in times of sufferings, because they forget to ask guidance and trust to him is very important, they only remember GOD in times of trouble and think that GOD didn't help them but they are the one who forget GOD.

The christian adherence to God does not guarantee the cessation of suffering and martyrdom. Christian greatness is to rise above all sufferings and still love God passionately ever at the cost of of holocaust of the self for a noble cause.
