Does a comfortable desk chair exist?

I cannot find a chair I can be comfortable in for more than an hour. How do you deal with spending so much time at your computer? Is your chair comfortable?

I have the freedom to loungage out on the couch. I can streach out or move as much or as little as i want. I like that better then chairs. But, anyway a point to make most chairs aren't designed to be sat in for long periods of time. You need to move around every so often or streach to keep your muscles active. That's mainly why sitting in front of the computer hurts so much.

I have a bad back and if I sit for long I get stiff. I do have a lpatop also but if I sat on the couch for long I probably wouldn't be able to get up.

I have a nice computer chair that is something I could sit in for 8 hours (work hours) if I wanted to. Usually the best chairs have leather on them and use metal for arm chairs. They are hard to find cheap, though. I got lucky. You could look at Craigslist and see if anyone has a chair for free or for cheap. If you already have a chair that works fine right now, be picky for your next chair, since you don't really have to get rid of this one. It will be a more satisfying purchase if you do so. Also, if a posture is not comfortable for your body, don't hesitate to change your poster for the better. Once you find yourself a nice chair and try out for a better foster for yourself, you'll be set for key crunching haven! ;)

Sorry it has taken me so long to get back here. Craigslist is a great idea! I'll have to remember that when I start shopping around.

I have a very comfortable office chair. It's high dollar. I had to pay $700 for it and it's been worth every penny. Rocks, leans back, spins around. It's oak, matches my humongous desk that I got for only $100 and $10 delivery from a swap shop.

To be honest with you i have never been able to find a good computer chair as no matter what it is made of or how big or small i have noticed that you either get neck ache or a horrid back ache.I have found that if i sit in my kitchen up the work top then i am the right hight for using my laptop without any pain what so ever.
