I've made $10 in less than 24 hours in the internet! I'm so happy! :)

Okay, before I get into the details, I want to make it clear that this isn't one of the discussions that advertise a certain PTC ponzi or pyramiding site. I earned through a less conventional way, it's actually through playing poker online (LOL). I didn't cash in anything, so there was nothing for me to lose, and I'm a bit happy that I was able to earn $10 in less than 24 hours. Anyway, I've made a couple of discussions about poker, and the feedback was not entirely good since a lot of people do think it isn't a good practice to gamble. I have to agree with that entirely. I guess my point of making this discussion is to SHARE MY EXPERIENCE in poker, and perhaps to discuss with friends who find interest in playing and to discuss and share tips and strategies on how to increase our winning chances in poker. Without a doubt, there are some people who contest the idea of playing poker, I hope these guys won't hate me for this post, so with that being said, I'd like to emphasize 3 things: 1. I agree that poker isn't a STABLE way to earn. It definitely isn't. You can't expect to always hit it. 2. We all like to earn a few extra cash. And what I want to share is that there are poker rooms that give you an initial deposit to your bankroll. You can use that money to play in poker rooms. I've gotten two real deposits of $25 and $50 from two different poker sites. (SADLY, I lost all that money because I played them in the ring the wrong way.) Fortunately, I was able to win $10 dollars back in less than 24 hours through proper game play! And I'm just so ecstatic now that I had to write about it here in MyLot. :D 3. Anyone who wants to give this a shot should not expect playing poker to be a stable way of earning. There are tips and strategies though that can help us in game play, though, and this is what I want to discuss with fellow MyLotters who are open to the idea of playing. So there. I do hope there are people here in MyLot who share the same interest as I do in poker. Please don't hate me for playing! My best friend's a pro poker player who competes internationally, and he's given me tips on how to play the cards well. I'm willing to share a couple of what I learned, I want to hear what your experience and tips are too. Hope to hear from a few of you soon!

Can you cash out the money you won?if the money you made can be cashed out anytime then its worth looking into these sites, coz i think if its just digital money that supposedly is yours, If you cannot get acess to it in cash but only use it to play the game, how can it be your money if you cannot decide how you want to spend it? then if losing it you will want to spend your own money to try to win it back,is that how it works?

Hello Bryan, Yes, you can cash out winnings anytime. Online poker rooms function like real poker places or casinos where you can cash in and cash out anytime. To answer your last question, yes, some people try to put money in again if they get bust and try to gamble with that money again, but I don't do that. I never cashed in anything. I'm careful with my money, play my cards right and wait my money to slow climb. :)

Hello fellow Filipino! :) I've started playing in the Facebook poker application, Zynga too! You can play Texas Hold 'Em with real money in a couple of online sites too without even cashing anything in. I'll be private messaging you the link that I found that gives off free no deposit bonuses. It's really great!

i think this is a good topic for those who are really into poker. i had played poker once, one on one with an american engineer when i was still young. that was the first and the last time. i heard a lot of online poker sites but i am not really into it and besides, i am not a gambler and will not gamble my money. 25 dollars means a lot to me and my family and i will not let it lost in just one time.

Hello Neil! I share the same sentiments with you. I actually quit playing live poker because I blew most of my money there. Since then I decided not to play if I have to invest money in it. That was why I was pretty glad when I saw that two well known poker sites gave new users free starting money! I blew them though, so I had to win a freeroll (free tournament) in order to get money again. I was lucky to have won my starting money there!

Well it's not for me because you lose more than you win. You have a edge with your friend I am sure he or she is telling you what to look for and tips on getting the upper hand. It's your life and if it something you enjoy it is really no one's biz. I know it can lead to gambling addiction for some people. They can't handle it. Yes always looking for extra money but this not for me. I can't afford to bet and have a 50/50 chance of winning it back. Good luck to you.

Hello Snoopy! I have to agree with you that one of the downsides of playing poker is getting gambling addiction. I was lucky to have been taught by my friend who's hit it big in poker, but sadly he had to go to rehab for gambling addiction. Yeah, it went that bad. It goes to show I guess that one should still be disciplined when it comes to these things. Gambling really isn't a good practice, but the high one gets from winning is just so different! Nonetheless if anyone decided to give it a shot it should always be in moderation and be sure that he or she won't get out of control.

Well, it's nice that you've won! I've played on one of those sites and I lost $40. I'm glad to hear that an actual person won something. I actually have a friend, too, who won quite a bit one year playing internet poker.

Hello CutePenguin! So sad to hear that. I myself lost $75 too, but the money was deposited to my account for free, so basically I didn't lose anything. I guess the admin is aware that most player play rather more loosely if it isn't their own hard earned money. I worked for my new freeroll after that so I'm more careful in playing now.

Sorry friend, I've not understood well: you just win the $10 or you cashed out the money? I mean you got the money in your bank/alertpay/paypal/liberty reserve account, or the money are just in the poker site account? Because this is the most important in my opinion.

Hello Pierone! No, I haven't cashed out the money yet so it's still in my poker account. I still want to use that money to play a bit more games. Anyway, the minimum withdrawal fee is $10, if I remember correctly. I can have it cashed out already but I'm still trying to increase my bankroll by playing a few more games. :)

Hey Missy, Congratulation! You've made $10. Is there any poker game online that pays through moneybookers, alertpay or libertyreserve? Because PayPal service isn't available in my country Bangladesh. Have a nice day.

Hello Dhana! Thank you so much! Patience with cards and observation of how other players play their cards was a good strategy that helped me! There are a lot of types of poker but what I normally play is No Limit Texas Hold Em. In that game you are give 2 cards which they call "hole cards." 5 cards are then laid down by the dealer. The goal is to form the best set of cards like forming a pair, 2 pairs, having 5 cards of the same suit, 3 of a kind cards and the like. In the process players place bets. It's fun actually! If you want to give it a shot poker rooms offer "play money" where you can play with real live players!

(sent a message on you) I already have that and earned 50$ and well frankly made 200$ ^^ What site are you trying now? I'd like to know if there still sites offering this lol. They need a valid government Id to this right? scan something and etc.. lol ^^ If you are a full tilt player then we might get in touch in the ring games there. I'm also a PS player. Same as you I never invested one dollar ^^

• Philippines

Hello Barma! Yes, these sites are indeed credible, they're actually the poker rooms professional poker players play in. When there are tournaments they are even aired off television! There are a lot of poker rooms to choose from, there is PokerStars, FullTilt and Party Poker. The best I've seen so far is Full Tilt. It's also the site that gave me an initial $50 deposit! :)

First of all, You have not won $10, You have lost $65 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! If You got $75 to start with and now have 10 then I dont see that poker is an excellent way to earn money for You. I think that as long as You are not depositing it is not gambling. If You only play with No Deposit Poker Bonuses or participate in freerolls then there is none of Your own oney at risk at any time but some extra cash to be earned playing poker. It's like a free sweepstackes I think. So why not try t get some money out of these poker promotions. The downside is that You will not be able to withdraw any money from Your account when You use a no deposit bonus, until You reached a minimum amount of frequent player points. A lot of these offers require You to play quite a lot of poker before You get a hold of the money. Anyone interesteed in trying it out go here: http://www.no-deposit-poker-bonus.net
