Hi All NewBies & All myLotters: This Helpful Tips are a Must Read for Us.

I came to a decision to rest from posting. But now I am eager to write down these tips specially for our active Newbies. I hope all of you had read and comprehend the guidelines already---it is a must read section of myLot. You could enjoy more in myLotting if you do comprehend already the DOs & DON'Ts of this site.
Last night one of our concern friend here discussed about ONE-LINER POSTS---and this lead me to find a helpful tips for all. I know that many of us here tried already to post some tips. I hope you will have fun and learn in my own version. I will try to make this 'easy' to everyone.
TIPS FOR CREATING A GOOD TOPIC FOR A DISCUSSION:
1. Think of an interesting topic & always consider the myLot guidelines
2. Check first if you have similar topics with the others (In checking, you can go to the recent, hot and top sections or go directly to the New-Improve-myLot searh box where you can earn a reward of using it naturally as you use Google, Bing and the like.)
3. Plot it down in a considerable sentences. (Please avoid a one-liner post)
4. Post it. Put the appropriate tag/s of your topic, this can help you receive responses.
5. Check for responses. Always refresh the 'I've started' section to see if your topic receives new responses. Comment back, this can help you prolong the discussion and increase your earnings. Respect their opinions. If you host a topic, you must be open-minded enough for any possible views of our fellow mylotters.
Note: You can open several pages of mylot in the firefox, internet, chrome and the like so that you can work on the other discussions too while you are waiting for any responses.
Do 1-5 every time you make a post. Do not create several posts if you are not sure those are of quality.
Quality post earns.
Quality post is fun.

The guidelines stated that: "Don't Start a new discussion unless you have something of substance to say. Don't Start discussions asking for one word answers like “Yes or No"

A one liner-post that leads to Yes or No answer may face these following consequences:
1. Get deleted soon and have zero cent.
2. Get replied by few who would sacrifice their effort to help you (If not deleted now but it has the possibility to be thrashed soon as the admin would swiped out some scratches here) & get hardly any cent so close to zero.
And take note: Both the TWO above are waste of time.
And if you want to response to other discussions posted by our fellows here, this might can help you also:
1. Read the Title
2. If it catches your interest, open it
3. Read again the body... think twice if you really like to respond
4. Do not drop comment if you think you could not contribute something in there
5. Look for another topic and repeat 1-5.
Note: there are some good topics that you could not really drop some comment or you do not have any idea about, so please go back there if you feel you have some idea in mind already, or your response would be ignored.
The Links below will navigate you:
1. myLot guidelines
2. mylot tips (1 year ago) by one of our helping hands here. You can go to the link so that you can see other helpful tips aside from posting a quality topic.

hello there,
great job for given out advises and tips on how to make a good post here. a lot has done it already but i guess those discussions are being buried with new ones. in my case, i always tell newbies to read the mylot rules and regulations here and there to every single user who either is new or simply just didn't read the rules.always comment on the response.

It's great that we have another friend here who is trying so hard to hel others to get the best out of myLot.
It seems too many have an aversion to reading the Guidelines and FAQs but hopefully they will find this more interesting and will learn a lot!

Primeaque these tips are BRILLIANT!
We need the new users here on myLot because they bring a breath of fresh air but unless we throw them a rope and help them to find they way around they could end up getting lost before they realise what a great FUN place myLot is.
You have given them some great advice there and I would like to add just one more thing which will help them and it is not pointed out soon enough to them and sometimes they miss out on it at the beginning.
NOTIFIERS - go to 'preferences' at the top of the page and then to 'notifications' and turn them to 'ON'. Then you will receive a notifier every time that you receive a response on a started discussion and it is a great help to continue the activity on a particular discussion or response. You can always go back later asnd set them to 'off' if it becomes too much to cope with in your mail later on.
Remember also that it is your OWN activity which will earn for you. Everything that YOU type will create earnings and the more FUN you are having here, then the quicker the earnings look after themselves!
Well done primeaque and I hope that after reading this that new Lotters will realise that we ALL want to help them!

Hi Diana, you come in---thank you so much!!!!
You are right my friend...you we should throw them a durable rope and help them to find the exact way around here on us!!!!
Oh diana, the notifiers, that's brilliant idea my friend.... they should turn them on so that they can receive notifications and they would not be blinded of more activities and happenings here on myLot.

Hi sasa!
I fear that many just skip them thinking that it is quicker to earn here by posting regardless. Sadly that is not the case and then they learn the hard way. At first glance they may seem complicated but there are MANY of us here willing to help understand them

Thanks for your both's interpretation of the guidelines and some of the FAQs. It would be very helpful for the people who are not quite familiar with the guidelines if they happened to see your discussion here.
I think the guideline and FAQs are not too long to read. I just wonder why some of mylotters are willing to consuming time to ask questions rather than reading the guidelines or FAQs.

I do realize that this type of discussion has been done in the past, but I think that you did it in your own way and your own words with a little different twist than some of the others. You did a good job with the tips, and I hope that some of the newer users will read this, and try to follow your advice.
Now for the second part - you signed this "PA". While your name could in fact be shortened to "PA", I have had that or "purple" as my name for longer than you have, so I claim rights to it. Therefore, we will have to think of a different nickname for you.

Hi purple,
Thank you. Once in my life I crave of helping others, so I hope I can achieve it. True happiness can be acquired when you can paint a genuine smiles of the faces of others. I hope I do paint some real smiles on the faces of our newer users here.
And, you are the very first one to observe that. Brilliant! Maybe you are the very first one to know this too. I usually signed 'PA' when I am in a quiet serious mood.
So... what would be a different nickname for me my friend? :-)

Yes, making people smile and brightening their day is a wonderful feeling, isn't it? Also, helping others and passing on knowledge is great, and it makes you feel good, too. I know that you have made me smile, so you have achieved it.
I don't know about the nickname. Perhaps "prime", since not only is it the first part of your user name but also it can mean "main" or "important", and you are important to your friends.

I did not know that purple means Imperial Power, but I like it. See, we have had a wonderful and informative interaction today, and we have earned a couple of cents in the process. Isn't this a wonderful thing, and we are also setting a great example for the newer users if they are paying attention to what we are doing.

Hi primeaque86!
What you've written is very good and I do hope everyone reads it all. I want to point out one thing though... There's one tip in the second source you listed that is very bad advice and I'd like to make sure no one follows the advice posted in the friendster post that is linked in that discussion. This is what it says:
"Rotate posting duties. Get someone to post on your behalf using the same account. Stick with a brother/sister or friend who you can trust. Take turns posting at different hours of the day and of course, try to share the profits!"
Please, do NOT follow this tip.

And I am trying to convince my partner now to create her own account. And I found out that our best referrals are our colleagues at work, close classmates and friends.
And the youngest brother of the wife of my bother, I don't how should I term it, had just signed in here---and oh, I have to train him first, some few English lessons and guidelines the most important!!!!

Thank you Alice. I hope everyone here like me will enjoy my as I do. And oh, Oh, I surely overlooked that one---
CO mylotters, that is a bad one---that's a violation to the TOS. If you wish that your brother and sister would enjoy mylot too, let them create their own separate account.
Thank you so much Alice.

Hello PrimeAque86!
First of all, kudos to a very helpful discussion! It's a really good way to help fellow MyLotters, especially the new ones. I've noticed that almost everyday a new user creates a discussion which asks how to do this or how to earn that in MyLot, and their discussions always get deleted due to the reason that they've violated guidelines. What you did is really helpful and I do hope new MyLotters who haven't taken the time to go through the FAQ section read what you posted in order to create better discussions and avoid breaking guidelines. I do hope that after this post there will be a decrease in the number of discussions that ask "how do you earn in mylot", or the ones that keep posting referral links. Good job friend! This is a really helpful post!

We should support them as they could be the future great contributors here on this virtual family of fun and friendship. I hope this can really help them....

I for one am quite tired of reading the same discussions over and over.
One of the guidelines is "Make sure you search for existing topics before starting new discussions."
The Guidelines are already there for us to read...why do users think it's important to repeat them in a discussion so often?
Please try and find new topics for discussion, not the same old thing over again that's been done by many other users before you.
If you have something extra to say on this subject, add it to one of the discussions already on the boards.

Sorry for this delay MsTickle. Well, your opinion is fully accepted. You know I respect you... and I am respecting all of you here.
Before I wrote this thing, I have already in mind some possible views like yours, and I am right. No one can please every body. And I am so sorry not to please you. Do you believe on the statement "There is no absolute on everything."? Yes I consider always the guidelines, I know how much time I put on this because I believe on that statement. There must be an exception to the rule. I know there had been many who post a quiet similar to this, but I am looking towards the content MsTickle.
And I thought it is better to post my own. I never regretted it...

Good post, but wouldn't a simple "Read the TOS" have done just as well? Seriously, point people to the Terms instead of copying them word for word. It would save a lot of time.

You seem to have missed the point
Assuming that new users (and older ones) read the Terms, FAQs and Guidelines, it is still complicated to understand them. The topic here is NOT copied from anywhere but is a simple explanation based on the user's understanding of what works best here and it is explained in simple terms for one and all.
We are told there to read before responding too and if you had done so you would have see the Admin above you who complimented our friend for this post.

Diana is right coolcoder. And I want to stretched out again that a quality post is not a copied one. It's a violation.
And to tell you I never copied anything.
If I get some ideas from the other sources, yet all written above are my words.
My ideas.
I just want to help.
As told there are some good topics that you could not drop some idea about, if so, come back if you have made your mind. Open-mindedness is a key to a healthy discussion---so??? Your idea is taken too.
Once again---this is not a copied/reworded TOS/Guidelines to make it clear to everyone once and for all.
THESE are friendly TIPS. Tips and guidelines are totally different. At the first or second line I asked whether you have done comprehending the guidelines. If so, then this could might help you further.

thanks for the information friend..
and i have doubt friend. Is it necessary to have tags for discussions and comments.what is the use of tags? what if we don't give tags? :)
@primeaque86 (8108)
• Philippines
12 Mar 10
Thanks my friend.
I don't think so. If there is no tag, any lotters who find your topic interesting would open your discussion and respond to it and possibly they would not skip the tag/s. There was a certain discussion about tagging here few weeks ago. And most common answers were: They usually put tags to a new discussion, most specially if that discussion has no single tag at all.

Hi incognitomitr. I will try to answer you in the best I can. And don't worry, my friend will be here as soon as she could add some valuable information regarding this matter.
If you tag a discussion you at least think of 1-3 appropriate tag/s for it. The number of tags I gave is based on how many usual number of tags I put to my topics. Somehow I could think only of one and your friends will add another if they happen to think of another appropriate tag/s after responding your topic.
It's helpful in the sense that tag/s would perhaps make an image of your topic. As for instance I will view the new, recent, hot section and I found I certain topic there titled 'what do you do in free time?', usually I look down to it's tag : so the tag for this particular discussion are: free time, hobbies, browsing internet, etc. http://www.mylot.com/nr/myresponded.aspx
Hence these tags can help me decide whether I have to open the discussion and go on reading and responding or not. In other words this is like a summary of your topic. And tagging can help a lot to get responses. Just make sure to tag appropriately your discussion. Tag/s could be a single word, or a short phrase.
And if you respond to other discussion, if you think you have really an appropriate tag for it, you can do as it will sometimes replaces the other tag/s if yours is the most appropriate. But most of the time I will skip that part. I will just add tag/s if I would respond to the topic in the New section.
Just raise any clarification my friend. We are willing to clarify it.
Thank you. Keep up the good work.

Hi primeaque86,
This is interesting topic for me. following your step 1 - 5 is easy than i read many guidelines in mylot. You made this simple tips. in my opinion, you or senior members should write another simple tips to support other members - how to earn a huge money in mylot that did not mention above (creating topic and responding them.
I think many members (including me) still don't know mylot features that give us rewards and how to earn money with contents or activities that members do on mylot. such as you have mentioned above "use mylot search engine naturally". Naturally, i earn 1 cent from using search engine and i sometimes earn until 3 cents. How about you ?
Regards.

There is no secret here at all. It is ALL in the FAQs. Those who take the time to read them have discovered what myLot tell us to do to earn here.
As Admin Alice said yesterday:
"why do you think we call these discussions? We don't call them "ask a question and never come back" right?"
at #9 here: http://www.mylot.com/w/discussions/2271233.aspx
No-one earns by doing nothing here (or anywhere else). Reading, understanding and then actively posting will get you there

Hi my friend,
I hope this can help many newbies here. And this is not actually the reworded guidelines to make it clear. The tips 1-5 are just tips on how to follow the guidelines. Mylot will value all new comers here as well as senior members here. As the saying goes : The youths are the hope of our motherland. Soon, all newbies here would be a helpful parts of this virtual community for the contributions of helpful topics soon as they understand already what is mylot all about. I am not telling you that as long as you read all those tips, you need no more to visit the guidelines every now and then. Of course not. Guidelines are guidelines. Tips are tips. I, myself open the guideline page every now and then. These tips I've given and mentioned by our co mylotters are help so that our entire lotting here would be fun----and not a waste of time. If one can produce quality topics then he/she could earn. The only secret how to earn is to create a quality post and respond with quality.

Great tips and what a nice way to help the new people. I think when I first started I didn't look at all the rules one I was lazy and two I just wanted to get started on here. Trying to find out if this was a ligit site or a scam. This is great guide and yes normally when I am on here I do check my discussions to see if there is a new response. I also take the time and respond to them. Also when I go to a discussion and see a lot of the same comments I was going to make I don't leave any. Sometimes people will go on there just to say they don't know the answer. I am making a better effort of checking FAQ concerning any My Lot question before I ask on here. The My Lot interest I believe is confusing to new people. We see it and think that is the best place to ask a question about My Lot and how it works.
Thanks for taking the time to put this together.

Thank you too snoopy for taking some of your time to read these tips. You are right, some new comers would sometimes rush into making discussions, raising so many questions about how to earn couple of bulks here without thinking of the guidelines not knowing that what they did is actually a big violation to the rules of mylot discussion!!!
But we could not blame them either. Though that there first approach here are headaches for us who sometimes lose a cent for replying to them, yet, we, who knows all about the violation they did should informed them what is the right thing to do. And informing is not enough. Of course we have to help them and teach them and bring them right there at the guidelines.

so about how many words should you be replying is there a limit do you get more cents the more words you type
