the optimistic person is alway hopeful and expects the best in all things, the person thinks whatever happens will be good. i believe that can be done easier when we are young, but we tend to be pessimistic when we grown up, the experience told us the society is complicated.it won't be so beautiful as much as we could see from its appearance. especially after we made many mistakes and be cheated ruthless, it becomes much harder to believe some one else and lose the confidence in the future. what's your opinion on that? and which kind of person you would like to be?

I try to be optimistic with just about everything that goes on with my life especially as a wife and a mother.
I'm married to a wonderful man who has his own little flaws. We had our own roller coaster marriage. We almost got to the point of separation because of the problems we faced. But still, we didn't give up on us. I was that optimistic that we will eventually get pass through whatever is trying to come in between the two of us. I was that optimistic that our love and respect for each other will be our strength.
And everyday, as a mother, I'm always trying to see the positive side of my children's future. Especially my son who was diagnosed with PDD-NOS, some say a mild form of autism.
I do have those moments when my worries for my son's future starts to overwhelm me. But as I have said, I try to always see the bright side of things. I tell myself that he's still young, almost 7 years old. We, his family still have the time and opportunity to find the right way to effective therapy interventions that will help him be an independent adult in the future.

I am rarely optimistic about much of anything. I double thinki and am always rather pessimistic about most things. Confidence is definciant and rather lacking as well. Being positive means feeling alive and seeing things like sunshine and rainbows and getting all googly about them. I don't anymore. I have severe depression and I am normally pretty bummed most of the time. I have a sarcastic sense of humor and a more cerebral way of looking at things. I think it works for me.

I'm more of an optimistic person. I seek good things out of every situation. Though I have had alot of struggles in life with family and now lovelife, I still manage to think that everything happens for a reason and that I maybe failure at some points in my life I know that life has its way to compensate with my lost. I still believe in good future ahead.

Is there such thing as a little bit of both? I always expect the best, but am prepared for the worst. I'm a very hopeful dreamer type of person. I'm very hard on myself though-always picking at myself-and I think that might be a genetic disorder as my younger sis does the exact same thing!

hey carrie,
i am an opyimist and till however long i live, i plan to be one :)i think people tend to become a pessimist only when they worry a lot. one might worry so much about a situation thus not be able to think on how to react and handle the situation. it only makes it worse and they get very nervous and hence become a pessimist! i would suggest such people read this really great book called "stop worrying and start living" by dale carneigne :)

Hello carrie. I am optmistic in general. I think that I have been optmistic because of my personality resembling that of my father's. It makes me think positively and enjoy more of life not to be pessimistic. I hope you will enjoy more of your life being optimistic. Take care.

i would like to think that I am optimictic. i would rather see thing always better than they are. but sometimes people tell me that i am a little pessimistic, because I make some events more dramatic than they were and retell stories and exaggerate a little or make it sound more scary maybe. But mainly , I think that I am an optimist :)
