People nowadays are very practical. Whatever makes them survive, that they shall do. As I have observed, many have ignored the value of honesty for as long as they can keep themselves on the right track in making money. Honesty is a small thing to them which might be of great disaster to cherish this value sentimentally. Being dishonest keeps the heart unsatisfied but eventually it makes go further in the worldly scale - it make s you richer and brings you to the heights where everyone would envy you. Anyway, they do not know much and care much about how much you value honesty and dishonesty for as long as you are prominent, they don't mind or don't care to ask about it. How about you? Do you still value honesty?

Basically, your parents must have valued highly honesty as essential of life which you should not easily take away from you. I can feel the sincerity of your answer friend. The audacity you hold in facing the difficulties brought by preserving honesty in your system is highly exception. Only when dandelions fall and stay still at the top of the pinned needle on the land will I see as saintly as you are. Kudos to you for having been able to survive and battle out the temptations to destroy your integrity as an honest person. I hope you to keep this tracking and influence others in making a great change of people's views towards the value of honesty.

Hello uniqueorn I still beleive in honesty is the best. I know sometimes it maybe easier to say white lie but in the end it does all come out or you personally feel guilty for deceiving that person longer than what you should if you told up front what it is. It is really hard with peopl because we spin things to make feel right for us knwoing it maybe wrong in the long run. With facebook and myspace all these dating sites it easier to lie because you know you will never meet them in real life. Thanks and have a great day Sincerely unique16

Lying is dominant in dating sites for security reasons. But there are some of those people really who are brave enough to submit their real names to strangers with the dream of course to see someone they will eventually date in the future. They are taking chances.

well, i think if t comes in money, people will really cheat. because t's really hard to find money nowadays, it will just be that easy for people to cheat. a decent job will make you money yet it' not enough especially if you have a family. people will not think of honesty anymore. all they think is that it's money, it will help my family. as for me, yes i value honesty, BUT! a big BUT! I admit, when it comes to money, i am kind of greedy, i save much and spend less. plus, yes i admit as well i cheat at times. but sometimes no. it depends.

money is a great motivation of cheating. I believe that it should be justifiable for people only to have money enough of their use. I wonder many want too much money?

I value honesty almost as much as my religion. Honesty is very important to me and i hate dishonest people. They really should try and remember their values in life, then it will go better with them and those around them. TATA.

Honesty has to say about good life. Honest people are light-hearted because they don't have a conscience to bear. While dishonest people have stressed faces. Because they have to solve many things just to finally get the solution they want which benefits them greatly especially about money.

I value honesty very much. I do not like dishonest people and try to be as honest as I can. If I am dishonest, I do not like myself. So I do not like being around dishonest people because it makes it hard to live not knowing if a person is lying or telling the truth and I don't have time for that. Time is too short.

LOL. Sometimes dishonesty plays a role in everyone's life. Saying that you would probably dislike yourself for being dishonest sounds to me like you cannot forgive yourself for doing so. We are imperfect you know. But instead you just have to correct yourself and do the best you can to be avoid dishonesty.

I still value honesty. It's not easy to find nowadays. However, it should never be about the other party. Let's look at ourself first. We just do our part of any bargain to be honest first. We would have a good peace of mind and sleep peacefully at night. Cheaters often have insecurity.

Indeed, full-time honest people is not an easy catch. Dishonesty can be seen anywhere these days in many form: students holding examination leaks, pick-pocketing from parents, political leaders' broken promises, children's falsified excuse for a night out party, a couple's unfaithfulness and many more to mention. I don't get the main thing why people have to lie to satisfy their needs.

i guess yes i still value honesty as its also one way to avoid any problem in the future specially when it comes to the relationship, being honest will keep the relationship stay. but then we really cant avoid those who are dishonest people when it comes to money as life is so hard now a days that we really need money to survive unless we are born to have a golden spoon.

Exactly. It has an after-effect which might ruin the plans you have laid towards a successful career. They keep us entangled. Even if they were done in the past, we seem not to escape from this as we bring anxiousness to whatever might happen upon being dishonest. We will never the consequences of having been dishonest. Sometimes it could be mild but expect for the worse. Remember, being dishonest is manifested with words. Words are cheap. If we are guilty of dishonesty, slap our face for becoming a cheap man.

you are actually very true . today people sound to be practical and they do whatever is in favour of them.rarely people care for what others feel. but personally I still value honesty ... and i value those who value honesty. There is a inner superego which will always give you a guilty feeling if you are dishonest.

Very well said. The superego filters our moral responsibilities as to keep our "ids" regulated and checked whether they do not go beyond limits. Honesty is one thing that the superego has to filter primarily. But looking at the modern age, honesty is cared by a few, countable few. This I am very sad about. As many compete for good reason through bad ways for a stable job offer, we too have morally declined our standards or quality as a human. Admittedly, I had to be dishonest not to step over others but to just keep myself safe and secured for good reason.

hi! yes, i do, because honesty for me means a lot. honest people are the ones that i really respect, honest are also all my best and good friends, just because if we are not sure about them, then how can we say that we trust them. being honest nowadays is really something that many people have forgotten but i really value it, because i am a man of honour!

Even friends who value utmost honesty highly could not be an easy catch. Naturally, we are born with our imperfection. We have high chances to lie and get something beneficial for us. But, there are friends really that despite all odds, honesty remains a valuable thing. Take note also, most broken friendships are caused by dishonesty or even honesty itself. If you know what I mean.

Your discussion made me to go to your profile as to just check your age. It says 19and I believe that. Nice question. Friend - We are loosing the meanings of strong words like love, truth, money, affection, respect to elderly persons, loving neighbors and so many which fills up this box. Honesty still has a meaning these days and it will follow the years to come also. Honesty in one's life plays an important role which you will not come across immediately but in due course of your life it will surely work. In some way or other -for me this has really help me in my life and hence believe honesty. Only because I am honest I got a good job...

In one sense, honesty could really play a vital role in your job. This would make you more credible as a worker. If it happens that with all your honesty you have done an incredible performance, it is then a chance to be promoted. With your promotion, you acquire greater money at the same time a happy conscience. This instance is a rare catch. Every promotion has some dishonest issues to talk about if we recapitulate the details, or so to speak, the evolution of the worker to becoming a master. There has to be a touch of it to take increased impression towards the administration. Exemplary performances are not purely work - skill and knowledge. Cheating can play a you the key to better money profit. Although it is quite risky since many are to downgrade you for having unworthily owned your high position. But many are still willing to freely engage in dishonesty and make money than be righteous and gain less wealth.

I personaly deduce that in discourse a statement can be strictly true and still be dishonest if the intention of the statement is to deceive its audience. Similarly, a falsehood can be spoken honestly if the speaker actually believes it to be true assuming the speaker doesn't unfairly reject or suppress evidence.Conversely, dishonesty can be defined simply as behavior that is performed with intent to deceive or to manipulate the truth.

My friend. I appreciate your response. But I honestly believe that it is out of context. I did not mean dishonesty in a world of conversation but valuing honesty in life as to achieve success. Take time rereading the supporting details of my topic. Honesty is a manner which hinders people to success if practical reasons should prevail. Best example to state under are the political leaders. At their campaigns and promotions, they surely are giving proposals which, I am not sure of, are propaganda techniques or were they sincere but make it hard to realize these things.

Honesty has always got a place for itself which can never be put down in any of the circumstances, this is a virtue that encourages humanism in us and seeing this other people too starts behaving like human and starts helping others. And above all being honest if we are going to help someone, they are going to help us some day, and Life is all about being with each other and help each other in all aspects of life.

I respect honest people. However, I can tolerate when someone uses that "emergency lie". I mean, I can take it when somebody is lying just to stay clean from trouble, in case the trouble is not worth it. Some little things, mistakes, nothing important. But I find it terrible, when one person gets punished for something he isn't guilty for and the real offender is just watching it and doesn't attempt anything to save that innocent person, if you know what I mean. I also hate when people lie just to look cooler.

For me one of the most important things is honesty. I value it too much. That must always be present especially to me and my partner. I don't want to cheat and be cheated so I value honesty.

I still value honesty. When I was young this did not mean anything to me until when I became an adolescent and I lied. My lying was discovered by my folks and other people involved which became other people's basis to judge me. From then on I realized the value of being honest and how important it is. Honesty defines your personality and credibility and because I value my reputation despite even if at times being honest can hurt other people, I would rather be honest than ruin my dignity.

Yes, I do care about honesty. I would like to say that you're judgement is really correct, but this is not a modern's day problem. Perhaps, you've heard about the famous Napoleon Hill's book, published in 1928 (almost 1 century ago) as a study course called The Law of Success. What he talks about is not ONLY about how to get rich, as many people think, but how people achieve happiness/success and as a consequence you can become rich (it's very different). The most interesting part is about the man's fear. He identify the fears, in general connected to the society, like being poor, sick, etc... These fears have to do directly or indirectly with MONEY. If you think carefully, they drive people consciously or unconsciously to do harm to others. Why? Because humans tend to think that there's scarcity/shortage of "elements" to survive and if you "kill" the others, there'll be plenty for you and you'll achieve success (synonym of MONEY, here). I'm using "kill" as a metaphor: you can kill ideas, progress, etc... However, success is not at all only money and people don't reflect about that.
