Sometimes if I stay on the internet hours at a time.. I have racing thoughts. I especially notice it if I lay down soon thereafter. All the things I've done and seen on the internet are running through my mind and I find it hard to get to sleep.. Does this ever happen to you??

Our brain is just like the CPU in our computer, it is constantly processing information, even for those you are not paying attention to.
It happens to me plenty of time, specially when there are topics of interest, and the ideas are just keep running through the head. I can feel that the brain is trying to process, and file those thoughts for later use.
Sometimes people will often experience a "brain overload", when there are too much things you are putting in the head, even our brain can't process them. Good things is we don't have to worry about the "overheat" issue, and unlike the CPU your brain can function even when you are asleep.

Actually Yes and I think it's going to happen to most people. I've actually read advice that said you should turn off the computer and tv at least an hour or so before you go to bed. These things keep your mind stimulated and might make it harder to sleep.
Do I listen to that advice? Sometimes :) Usually if I'm feeling over-hyper before bed, I'll shut the TV and computer off early to wind down.

Yes, this sometimes happens to me, but most times it has little, if anything, to do with the internet. Most days I'm so exhausted by the end of the evening that I just pass out and have absolutely no problem falling asleep because of how much I work and the hours I work. Sometimes, though, I tend to lay up at night thinking of all the things that I have to get done the next day or everything that's left to do, worrying about how we're gonna get everything done or afford the things we need, etc. I tend to worry a lot and that's usually what keeps me up at night because I find that when I lay down I tend to relax enough where I can logically think about what's going on and everything that needs to be done, so it tends to be my "thinking" time even when I should be sleeping. xD

Oh, believe me, this happens to me all of the time. There are about a thousand thoughts assaulting my brain at once. Based on things that I have done and seen online. It takes me a bit to wind down at night, which is mostly why I wait an hour before trying to go to bed after I had turned off the computer. Otherwise, it is very hard to even try to get to sleep.
Still, there is quite an abundance of thoughts in my mind, as they continue to work. Many gears are grinding in my mind based off of the Internet. Based off of things that I have done. Not only that, but also things that I have yet to do and for some reason did not have time to get to. It is nice to know that I am not the only one who experiences this.

It depends on what I'm doing. If I'm reading a good story or something like that, then yeah. my mind is on what I was doing and I have to drag myself away to get off the computer and go to bed. Other times then no, I can sleep just fine. I usually have to be warn out enough though in order for that to happen.
