The other day I was asking about celebrity crushes, and it reminded me of the fact that I went through school with a boy who is now a professional baseball player. That got me to thinking, I wonder if there are other people that know someone that was famous or that eventually became famous.
The person that I know is Austin Kearns, who is a professional baseball player, he started out on the Cincinnati Reds and was later traded to the Washington Nationals. He is a great person and growing up he always was a sweet boy.
So, tell me, do you know someone that is famous as well?

I had Stuart Pierce in my primary and secondary school in the same year as me.
He is a footballer in the UK.
We also had Chris Evans at secondary school in the year above me, who is now a radio DJ.

I don't know what it is about those individuals that go on to play professional sports, but I think because of the fact that I knew one of those kind of people they are especially near and dear to my heart.

You are right. There are some sports that we choose to follow and some that we don't. Sometimes it is difficult to keep tabs on people as well.

To be honest, I didn't realise the footballer was the same person as the little boy in school.
It was on a school forum that someone mentioned it and there was a picture of the 10 year old football team , with a few people I remembered . Under Stuarts name was (went on to become a famous footballer),he is manager for one of the big teams now I think but I don't really follow football.

I don't know that you would say that he was one of the most famous baseball players here in the United States, but he is famous around here mostly because of the fact that he is a hometown boy.

No, that doesn't sound like a positive story at all. I'm sorry that the only person that you've ever known that has gotten television exposure is because of the fact that they didn't know how to behave.

Nope, I don't know anyone who has become famous. At least, I don't know anyone just yet! Not that I plan on it either though lol. But who knows. You never know how people's lives will play out.

No, we don't have the foresight to know who or what we are going to encounter throughout our lives.

There was a boy I went to school with that became a famous boxer later on but no I didn't know him personally or hang out like that. Maybe when my friends band gets big that will change.

It seems that in a lot of situations the people that went to school with us that go on to become famous are simply classmates, not friends.

Uhh, I know Manny Pacquiao! aside from he's based from a poor family he is truly a kind heart one that he pursued boxing to lift his family from the mud. He didn't dream of becoming what he is today and yet he is helping other people now.

It is very beautiful and inspiring that he is helping people that are less fortunate than himself after his success.

I do know a person who got famous.
Well one of my schoolmates or i must say classmates made it as an actress in the bollywood movies , she was really good looking and we did suspect that she would be modeling even then.
I saw her in a few TV promos and then suddenlt there was a huge announcement and she got to do a movie with the best actor around Shahrukh khan .
Wll i am talking about Anushka sharma. Well she did get famous and i hope she continues on the track.

That is really cool. I've never known anyone that became famous in the acting sense, although I did know some very talented people when I was in school.

Living where I live, there's always famous people about. I can think of many child actors I knew but weren't so famous later on . . . so that may not count here. As far as someone who I personally knew who "became" famous . . . let's see . . . I knew Leslie Boone . . . she became an actress with a big role in "Babes" and "Ed" (though I don't consider her real famous though). I just knew her throughout the school years - always involved in drama and school government. In the skating world, I knew Keauna McLaughlin (of McLaughlin/Brubaker, figure skating pairs) when she was so little . . . she was such a timid rink rat, but has blossomed into this beautiful girl who became 2008 and 2009 US National Champion with her partner. A couple other skaters I know may not be household names, but they may be known to those who follow skating closely - Bebe Liang and Danielle Kahle - I knew them when they were practicing as kids as well. Gosh, I'm drawing a blank on others . . . but like I said, there are many famous faces around "here"!

Yes, there are far more famous faces around other places. Here, there aren't a lot of famous faces around unless you happen to be one of the big horse racing events or such then there are famous people that come to visit.

I went to school with three guys that made it to the NFL. All three were pretty nice guys back then. I know that fame did not change one of them, the other two I am not sure about becuase I have not seen them since graduation.
My doctor's son plays professional baseball. He is in the Athletics assoctiation. Don't know that he has made it to the big leauges yet but he is good so hopefully one day soon he will be there.

As far as professional baseball goes, there is a single A team here in Lexington that is associated with the Houston Astros, this year is their tenth season and some of the boys that have come out of the Legends are now on the major league teams, but I didn't know them personally.

Yeah, and I don't know if I'm fortunate or not, but this person happened to be my BOY FRIEND. It's crazy, I know. He was a normal guy when I met him but now he isn't so normal anymore. LOL. Good bye quiet life for us. Since he's from a prominent political family, he's famous now for being a young candidate running this coming elections. It's a weird feeling though but I guess I have to get used to it. LOL.

As I don't understand politics, if it was me in that situation, I don't think that I would consider myself to be fortunate, but it is different for every person.

Yes. I went to school with a few guys who are now in a band called, "The Latency". They are absolutely huge up here in Canada and I wouldn't be suprised to see their fame take them into the States. They have already toured Canada and have opened up for some very big bands.
I've also known a TON of hockey players that are either now National Hockey League players, or are almost there. Almost too many to name.

That's really neat about the guys that are in the band. I wouldn't be that surprised either for them to have the opportunity to break into fame here in the states either.
It's also cool that you know a lot of hockey players as well, being from Kentucky, that isn't something that we see here very often.

Kinda sorta...
Remember the show "Three's Company"?
I knew this girl in Junior High, DeeAnn Harrison. DeeAnn had a younger sister named Jenny (Jennilee). Well after Susanne Somers left the show, they brought Jenny in as her cousin or something. She was only on the show for a year, I think, and I never saw her on TV again.

I don't yet know anyone who is famous, but if you give it a couple more years I'm sure at least one of the people I grew up with will make it. :) We're all still in the college phase right now.
I always thought it would be weird knowing someone famous and hearing what everyone's saying about them and all the gossip and knowing how they really are. I'd always feel the need to defend them fiercely if they were my friend or something and it'd be weird. Then I'd always wonder if I happened to see them while they were famous if they remembered me at all. What an awkward situation that would be if I went up to them to say hi and they had no idea who I was!
of course, I grew up in a school where we were the biggest graduating class with 95 people, so everyone in our grade knew each other, everyone in the grade above us, and everyone in the grade below us at the very least. XD

The idea of having gone to a school that small is weird for me. In fact, it was just the other day ago that I ran into someone that I went to high school with and she recognized me, but I had no clue who she was at first.
