I am on the borderline of diabetes, and I have high sugar level. That does not mean I am diabetic it is just that I could go either way and I do not want to topple over to the bad side. So what is my complaint? I can go to the local superstore and get Vitamin C, Chromium, all the Vitamins, and Vitamin and Mineral supplements but the one herb that has worked to get my sugar down, that is, Gymnema Sylvestre can only be gotten either by ordering it from the States (and getting high taxes on it) or from a health food store. Trouble is that my husband has als and we have our friends drive us , and the health food store is in the Mall, but our Superstore is on the other side of the street about half a mile away and I told her, let me stop at the Mall, I can run in and get a bottle of the Gynmema Sylvestra capsules as the store is right near the entrance.
Now if i were in India, I could find a tree and get someone to grind the plant for me. If I lived in Japan, there is another herb that prevents and reverse diabetes, and that would be easy to obtain. If I lived in China, I could get some other herbs. I could pick up bitter melon in the store, and use the cinammon and fenugreek in my herbal cabinet and I do, but are these enough?
But because I live in North America and in Canada, I have to go to a health food store and from what I heard, pretty soon there might be a law that would even prevent getting these.
So is there a conspiracy to cause us North Americans to get diabetes and bad hearts in spite of our efforts? And why are these diabetic preventing and reversing herbs not as available as the other herbs that prevent other diseases. After all, here in Manitoba, diabetes is getting worse and I do not want to depend on prescription drugs, nor have to not go to any special occasions because I must not eat even a few snacks.

Right now I can still get it at the health food store and I can also order them online. The trouble is if I order them online, I have to be home to receive them and from what I heard that perhaps it will be illegal.

I do not think they will close them as I am in Canada. It is a recognized brand that goes through extensive testing and they are honest about it on their label and they do caution about using it with a prescription, but in my case, I do not have to worry as with my prescription the sugar went down too slowly. But I have to be careful not to skip breakfast, etc.

There are a lot of people who believe there's a conspiracy between the pharmaceutical companies, the oil companies, the medical industry, the government, etc. to keep people unhealthy so that we'll buy more of their products.

That is the trouble. We cannot help where we live and I am sure that there has to be a natural solution available here. What happens if there is an embargo and lot of those medicines or herbs cannot be brought into North America? The pharmacy companies will have a field day and we may be even sicker. Natural solutions are best.
