Do you feel movie stars are heros in real life?

You always see that movie stars step up when there are natural disasters. They donate a good fortune. Then there are those who have donated their organs etc. Is it that they appear to be heros? Or is it their moral obligation to do so since they are blessed with so much money, or are they just like the rest of us?

Our real life heroes are policemen, firemen, doctors, nurses, etc. Yes it is wonderful that stars do give time and money when things happen. I am sure they do more behind closed doors and give to charities like us. Is it their moral obligation I would rather them doing these things because they want to not because they are obligated to do so. I am a fan of actors, singers, etc but at the end of the day they are just like us.

It's true that celebrities are normal people. But the impact they have to influence others to follow in their footsteps is undeniable. Seeing them giving makes others want to give and be just like them? Not many people envy or try to be like policemen, firemen etc.

Isn't that sad. I like entertainers for entertaining. I think we should be teaching our children to respect the policemen, firemen, our soilders defending us. So many of these stars are bad examples Tiger Woods, Michael Vick, Lindsey Lohan, etc. I also know we have people like George Clooney, Brad Pitt, Sean Penn, who do donate their time and are involved with charities. I give what I can when I can. I don't determine it based on a celebrity is doing it or not. I enjoy being a fan of their work on the screen. Whatever they do off and are helping is awesome and shows me they are caring people like all of us. If I had money I would do more and donate more but I can't.

I haven't heard of any donating organs and there really aren't that many who do much in the way of charity. Most are just trying to make themselves seem important and think that their celebrity makes them experts on all kinds of stuff especially politics. But for most what they really want is fame and money.

You can't say they don't give to charity just because they aren't annoucing it on the news. It isn't really our business if they give or how much. A lot of them do give and donate. Maybe if we all weren't into shows like TMZ where they like to trash people we would hear more about the charity work they do.

That is what I feel too that many celebrities give out of the goodness of their heart and we don't get to hear about it. But you know they do. Does that make us want to be more like them because they are role models? Do people who lend way to a better world need to be viewed as heros too?

Movie stars are not by any means heros. Anyone can donate organs and money. Movie stars are only protraying people on the screen - its all fake. Its good of them to donate but donating does not make anyone a hero in my opinion. A hero is someone who runs into a burning building to get people out. A hero is someone that protects people from criminals. Actor and Actresses are not heros by any means.

You don't feel that people who make way to cause a greater good for society are hero even if its not something they have to put themselves in harms way to achieve? A person who use their possessions to help devasted areas, feed the poor, shelter the orphans etc. is not a hero?

I see them as stars and role models not heroes

It's very kind and fortunate to give organs and money. You do not need so much money but they cannot keep up with it, I think it would be great to have money. (Which you need) But not to much that you can afford many many many expensive merchandise

I don't consider movie stars heros at all. Every single time I see one doing charity work I consider it a big PR stunt. If they really wanted to do charity work they can go into the trenches and get down and dirty with thousands of others. If they didn't want the PR, they could keep their work quiet, almost all charaties have a confidentiality agreement.

TMZ is not showing stars doing charity work. There are a lot of celebrities involved in charity work. A lot of them donate time to things they have affected them. A illness in the family from the past. Not all of their work is aired for the public to see. I don't call them heroes just caring people. I don't think any charity work is done for PR. To be honest no one would watch. People enjoy hearing bad things about stars far more than the good they do.
