When you have a power outage what is your favorite part about it? what are some of the things that you do or like to do?
When our power goes out, depending on the time of day i enjoy just sitting around with the family playing our favorite board games, its nice to get away from everyday technology and the quality time is great. If its night time i love lighting candles through out the house, i love the calming envinoment feel, its so relaxing, at this time i would sit curled up with my book. If its a cool lightening storm, then we will gather on the porch and watch the different strikes, and engage in converstation, my husband will start telling silly jokes that only my 8 year old seems to get, but the 2 year olds will start laughing hysterically because they wanna be in on it too!

I like to burn candles when the power goes out. Nothing is more romantic than than to be with the one you love by candlelight. Power outings can definitelky set the mood.

I usually enjoy a power outage during night time. Why? simply because during this time I could gather the kids, my cousins and even my grandparents to sit around with me and then we will have some sort of storytelling. We used to listen from my uncle who would share with us some scary stories. After that, it would be really funny to see that the kids are curled up together in one bed because they are thinking that the ghost in the stories told will come and get them.LOL!

I used to love it when the power would go out! I remember as a kid my parents would hold flashlights so us kids could play board games. Now that I am an adult, it is nice just to light some candles and hope the power comes back on as to kick the alarm clock and wake me up on time! I love to sit on the porch and just watch the rain fall...it is the best smell in the world! :-)

I like to spend time with my family too, when it's a power shortage. It just seems like all the world is standing still, we don't have to hurry anywhere, just sit and talk there in peace. We often play some board games too and if it's dark, we light candles, so it creates a nice and cozy atmosphere. Power shortages may be very disturbing, but they actually provide you an opportunity to spend quality time with your family.

Whenever the power goes out, my family loves to play poker. I enjoy playing with them too, because it's very good bonding time. Cards are a great way to bond with your family because it forces you to spend time together. Cards always involves more than one player (except solitaire), so it's a great family choice. We also enjoy board games like Monopoly, Scrabble, etc.

Power out is the most hateful thing for me. It is generally very HOT in India and I sweat a lot. So when there is a power out, my ceiling fan is turned OFF and I start sweating and breathing heavily... Worse,if it is night then i can't concentrate on anything. At such times, I tend to go out and return to my rooms, only when the power is back on.. Guess, you enjoy it a lot. :) It is wonderful! have fun!

Well when there is no power i like to read books and finish of the stories which would be lying there for some time because i just could not find the time to read them and finish them off.Otherwise i would also like going out and sitting in the balcony and seein the things ouside.
THe only problem is that i dont get enough chances to do that.

My children and I would often go out in the street and play. It's not that dark anyway coz most of the time there is moon. If it's a little bit dark we would turn on the headlight of our car and it will give us light and we can even play around. Sometimes we ill just drive around the subdivision or we watch movies inside the car. :) Before when it was sleeping time we crawl in the car and spend like halfof our night there.

if theres no electricity then i would love to go out to the mall and stay there to cool myself coz im sure it will be hot inside the house without fan, if its night then perhaps i will just go to sleep and open all the window so that air can come inside so i can sleep well without feeling hot.

My favorite thing to do when the power goes off is rant and rave about the fact that the power is off like a delusional madman. Complain about the fact that the power should not be going out in this day and age, because with all of our technological advances, we still have not prevented power outages. There might be a couple of curse words in there somewhere, especially if I lost some work from the power outage.
Now after all of that is out of my system, I would try and find something to do. Hopefully it is not dark outside, so I could go outside and do something. If it was dark and rainy then I think I will just lie down and get some rest. Hopefully by the time I wake back up, the power will be back up. Then again, it kind of defeats the purpose when I get up every five minutes to check to see if the power has come back on. Still, I just do not like the power going out, as it does it at the absolutely worst time possible every single time without fail.

At home, we sit outside our lawn and just talk. Yeah, it's indeed nice to get away from the technology and savor the simplicity of life.

I remember when I was a kid, the place where we lived used to have regular power outages. But we always had fun during these times. We'd be sitting around the dinner table with a few candles in the middle. We'd be playing cards, and sometimes we bet real money.
I could always remember having the power back on as a sort of bitter-sweet moment, because it meant the card-fun was over, and yet we could go back to our regular TV shows.

AS far as I am concerned, I think If the power is out, I think I can do a lot of other things instead. I can play chess with my friends with teh candle on.I think this may a very good choice to play. Then I think I will choose to chat with my close frinds in the darkness or make a cell phone to others to kill the time when the power is out.

When the power goes out in my office, first I will just stare blank at my blank monitor. All my hard work gone! Anyway, although it's an untimely break, it's still a break, and I like breaks. So, I will sit back and enjoy the darkness. This is the only time when it's perfectly all right to do nothing in office even in the presence of the boss. I will chat with my colleagues in darkness and wait until the power comes back on again.

I find the day fun during black out. The place becomes silent and I sigh with relief. It's as though I want to live like that forever. I enjoy reading at moments of silence and there were no distractions. I take a look outside the house and let the view sink in together with feeling the gentle wind. At times I could no longer keep my eyes from closing and I begin to sleep. After that I wake up and after a few hours the power returns and I surf the internet at night.
