Can one still smoke expired cigarette?

Although i don't smoke, i posted this discussion because i was asked by a friend of mine if it is ok to smoke an expired cigarette? He told me he opened it a year ago and stashed it somewhere then he just found it yesterday. He asked me if it is still ok to smoke it? First of all i know smoking is not good for one's health so i told him it is definitely No. What perked my curiosity is that do cigarettes have expiry date? Can one still smoke expired cigarette?

yes you could smoke an expired cig but it just might taste bad not like a fresh pack depending on the cigs you smoke some are worse than others i smoke newports when they go bad the taste really bad but thats a menthal cig and for instence a marb red might taste alright when expired because it isnt menthal

there is no expiration date on them but they do go bad

yeah you can, they wont taste the same for sure. but i have done it before.
