How old were you when you stopped believing in 'Santa Claus'?

How did it make you feel? I think I was around 8 or 9 when I figured it out but kept it up because of my younger siblings. It took some of the fun out of Christmas for me but I enjoyed watching the younger ones in the family and told stories so that they would keep believing for a few more years.

I was 9 or 10. I was sad to realize it. Now my second cousins ages 4 and almost two believe in him and that's fun to watch.

i was 6 or 7 when i stopped believing. all b/c my parents tried to tell me that they had to pay santa for the gifts i was getting. now as a parent of two children, we dont do "santa". wi buy, hide and put out gifts, but we dont tell our children that a fat man in a red suit sneaks in one nite a yr to eat their cookies and drink their milk... lol.... and leave them gifts. when my kids get older i will tell them the story of st. nicholas... otherwise, we share the story of jesus and enjoy being with each other. after all.. family is what the holidays are really about.
