Hi fellas, Have you ever dealt with credit card fraud? What happened? Did you report it to the credit card company? Was it resolved? What steps did you take to get the charges reversed? I am asking all these because my aunt had fraudulent charges in her credit card, someone made purchases in her credit card for a jewelry set that cost $3000! The billing statement has just arrived and that's how she found out. There is another charge in her credit card for $ 500 in Bloomingdales! Goodness this is a total rip off!

No that's never happened to me before, but I hope she contacted the card company, and let them know about it, and then got that card frozen, and had them send her a new card with different numbers. The card company can find out where those charges were made, and at what time. And she should be careful who she leaves her card with.

That happened to me once. Someone that came to visit a fellow employee at my work stole my check card from my purse. I immediatley called my bank and they knew my spending habits and asked me about ones they thought were not right and they canceled the card that he had and got me a new one new numbers and all and replaced the money that was taken and I was also told they had the guys face on camera at Walmart using my card. The other employees were mad that I even said anything and were telling me I should keep my mouth shut. Right I'll just keep shut and let this guy spend all my hard earned money. No thank you.

Yeah I went to them first and they were the one who told me to make the call. Some of the staff started showing me there purses without me even asking to prove they didn't take it. The employee who had the visitor was the one who made the biggest stink about it and funny thing is that was her last day to work there. I believe she had part in setting it up for him to steal.

That is unacceptable, I mean what kind of people are they? I'm pretty sure if it ever happened to them they'd roar like a lion! He might have been their friend but that does not give them the right to cover up for him or tell you what you can and cannot say! I bet they did not want the word to spread like wild fire all over the workplace because they could get in trouble with the management as well. Did you ever report the incident to the management?

Luckily I have not encountered such problem after all these years of using my credit card. Well, my wife has become a victim of such. There was this online purchase that she did, unfortunately it keep on charging and there was no way to stop it considering that when she contacted the site, there was no response. What she did was called here credit card company and request for a change in card number.

Yes it's happened to me twice and it happened to me on my debit card. Some how someone got my information and started making a bunch of charges with it. I'm not sure where they cam from it might have been this sketchy looking site I bought these memory boosting supplements from but I'm not really sure. You have to be careful who you buy from on the internet I suppose.

yes you are right. I suggest you use a single use credit card for online payment/ purchases that way credit card thieves could not use it to purchase anything on your card. by using your debit card you are exposing your bank account no which is quite scary. If you really like using debit cards use a prepaid one.

I've delt with this kind of thing before. And, let me tell you it isn't very plesent. I called the bank and had the card frozen, then I disputed all of the charages that weren't made by me. It took me about two weeks for me to have the money put back, but I got it all back in one lumb some. So I was thrilled to have it resolved so quickly.

I lost that card after using a credit card number online. So I no longer use credit card numbers online.

My husband had his wallet stolen once and they actually had the card and used it. We fortuately are with a really good credit union that noticed purchases out of the ordinary and put a quick stop to them. They only had one or two small transactions go through. So to answer all of your questions. Yes it was reported to the credit card company, they actually had blocked it before we ever called them. Yes the charges were refunded; he had to sign an affidavit stating that he truely did not make those charges and that his card had been stolen. Most major credit card companies have fraud protection built in so they will cover this. This is why we pay such extreme intrest rates on these cards.
