This is the first time that we will have a cat which is pregnant and have her delivery. Our previous cats were male so that's not a problem. Now, were worried that she might deliver her babies in our bed. After we've done a place for her delivery she still don't want to stay there. I guess we will just know and wait until her due date.

Cats usually know when it's time to make a nest and settle down to give birth. They can often pick the most inconvenient of places, so perhaps it might be a good idea to make sure that she has somewhere quiet and safe, so she can have her kittens in peace.

I had a cat that had kittens and i also saw them being born, she was a great mum to the kittens aswell as she made no noise whilst giving birth to the kittens. This was her first lot of kittens and she knew exactly what todo with them aswell.I found her giving birth to her kittens in my clothes draw on top of my white tops,i threw the tops out after a few days of her having her kittens.A cat will have her kittens where she feels she should no matter what.

What you need to do is have a sealed off place ready for her to give birth especially if you have male cats in the home. While she's still pregnant she's fine, but once those kittens are born the male cats will try to attack them. So you need to give her her own space in the house that's sealed off from the males, and keep her there until the kittens are at least one month old. harsh reality I know, but good luck.

It is very unlikely that she will do it on your bed. Under the bed is possible. And you can expect her to have it in a place where you did not expect! Our cat before, did it on the very top of our high cabinet! She had only 1 Baby which i called Honeygirl.
When i was renting a room near my workplace years ago, a cat from the neighbors chose my sliding cabinet as her new home! The little meows woke me up one night to find 3 little newborns inside the closed cabinet! Cats can really give you big surprises!

I think a lot of people have already given you really good advice, just make sure to keep her safe, there is probably nothing you can do about her choice of where to birth the kittens!
Good luck and definitely come back with some pictures to share once they arrive!

Hi vycess..Congrats on becoming a "Grandmother"?!! I've seen many a litter of kittens be born over the years and one thing is for sure. The Momma always chooses the strangest place to give birth. Typically its a place where she can hide the kittens like under a sink in a vanity or outside under lots of brush or under the bed etc. I really doubt she will have them on the bed as that is way to out in the open. Also, what they usually do is move them everyday to a different spot. You'll see her pick them up one by one and tote them to somewhere she likes better. The last time my cat had babies, she moved them at least twice a day and you never knew where she would put them. Its so much fun however and I'm sure you will really enjoy the experience..until they are a few weeks old and start roaming around..They are so much fun to watch as their curious little minds are fearless and they try just about anything..Enjoy the experience..and take pictures so we can see them!! Good Luck..J

Cats are very particular and want to have there babies where they want them, it will be hard to convince her otherwise.
