Why don't people swap referrals?

I am a member of a few PTCs as most of you are. Recently, I have quit using most of them except Neobux and I am keep posting on Mylot. Why? because I cannot get any referrals. As a teenager, I crave money, not to spend, but the actual feeling of gaining possession of money. I know that PTCs are slow, and that I will earn very little even after a long time. But, I don't have time to do partime jobs, and getting money from your parents for doing chores just doesn't sound great to me, their money is your money.....so what's the point of 'working' for them just for money? That's why I decided to do PTCs, earning $0.04 a day, and taking 50 days to get a $2 payout. It's slow, but still satisfying. I know that everytime I click an advert, the owner of Neobux gains more money....oh well. The point I am trying to make is that PTC are useless! My friends think there's no point earning money so they don't join. Other people know about the referral system and often delete your username from referral section(I do that) So I was wondering, why don't people swap referral links? For example, I join a site as your referral and you do the same, therefore we both earn the same amount, but we earn more than we did before we swapped links. So, in order to help each other to earn more, why not give this idea a try? PM me if interested, or voice your opinions on why this might or might not work.
