Obama is giving a total of $750,000 to six groups that help kids go to college. Fisher's House, which provides housing for families with loved ones at Veterans Administration hospitals, will receive $250,000, the White House said Thursday. And the Bush-Clinton Haiti Fund, for which two former presidents are raising money to rebuild earthquake-ravaged Haiti, will receive $200,000.
And there more! I think it is good that he is giving to various groups. What do you think? Who would you give it to?

I think he made good choices. A college education is so necessary these days so it's good to see him helping to give young people a chance. It's going to take a lot of money and effort to rebuild Haiti so I'm glad to see him supporting that, too. And I was particularly pleased to see that he donated to Fisher's House, which really does make the difference between a veteran having his family with him during an illness or going through it mostly or entirely alone.

It was very generous of Obama....especially with helping children in this country being able to go to college. Which will improve the rest of their lives....the gift of college is the gift that keeps giving..better job, better pay, better benefits, better quality of life.
As for all the money going to Haiti...they are going to need it. From what I am seeing on the news...it has been two months and things are still horrible down there.
It is his money and he can do with it what he pleases. But I think he picked some good charities.

Anyway,750,000 is not a large sum of money to Mr.Obama.I don't think a news of president donating money worth the media hype.In our culture, people who are really generous do not want other people to praise their generosity,on the contrary, they avoid media exposure so that they can live a peaceful live.If I were the president,I think I will donate the money to the government and appeal to the government official that they should cut their salaries and get the country out of debt!

I think that's a generous thing to do. I don't know who I'd give my money too. I'd certainly want to look at the various charities, their administrative expenses, their causes, etc., and then go from there. The charities the President chose all sound ok to me (and I'm not an Obama supporter).
